I think the incel phenomenon is directly related to the insane availability of porn we have today. Others have said that it's because people are stuck behind a screen these days and never interact with others, sure that's true. Definitely part of it. If there wasn't any porn readily available but we still had the internet, there would still be more incels today than in 1950. I believe it's when you add the current shitload of porn and insta-hoes/OnlyFans into the equation that you end up with so many incels.
When the Elliot Rodger thing happened I had no idea what an incel was, I'd seen the word before but I never cared enough to know what it meant. The Elliot Rodger event is what taught me that incels actually exist. At first I couldn't believe it was a real thing, it seemed completely absurd to me that anyone attending college couldn't get laid if they really wanted to. How can you not get laid in college? There will probably never be another time when sex with a multitude of attractive partners is so readily and easily available.
If you read the things that the incels write, it becomes apparent that these poor clowns have completely destroyed their minds with pornography. This is where all that entitlement and misogyny really comes from imo. If we had the internet, but without porn, then I don't see how they could hate women as much as they do. They see women as immoral, disposable, pleasure-givers and are upset because they think everyone else is in some sort of secret club but they aren't included. Since they aren't getting laid they just end up using more and more porn, this also means that they aren't getting out or being social. Most of them have absolutely terrible attitudes, they aren't interested in any form of self-improvement. Remember that poor idiot who admitted he begged his own mother to fuck him? I believe that, in a world where he had no access to porn, this event would've never happened.
I don't think that the poor idiot who was caught planning a "hate-crime" was serious about it. When you read about the stuff he was doing, he was making it way too obvious, the whole thing reads more like a desperate cry for help to me. I don't think he should be free so we can find out if I'm wrong or right, I just think it just makes his situation all the more tragic.
