In what ways do you think God communicates with humans?

God doesn't communicate with humans. Any communication or revelation would diminish His divinity and transcendence. It would also diminish free will. Any communication must remain ambiguous as to not reduce transcendence and free will.
The threat of eternal hellfire vs heavenly bliss is a form of compelled speech. A forced choice is not compatible with the notion of "free will". There's a reason why any civil country has legal protection from this, confessions coming from vietcong POW camps and USSR courtrooms aren't worth a damn.
IDK if free will does actually exist, a lot of it is semantics and speculation which are fun to think about but offer no resolution. Neither does inventing an omnipotent, omniscient, benevolent God that, for some reason, wants us to have free will but also takes it personally when an agnostic chooses to exercise it. There are plenty of religions built off believing in something with no evidence. Many offer the same supernatural promises. If He wanted to distinguish himself from the rest then some sort of intervention is called for.

He sends diseases, and makes weather phenomena.

Whatever original sin Christ was meant to wipe away, remember who gave humanity free will to begin with, what His expectations were, and how He decided to relegate His creation to suffer for thousands of years before even deigning to consider to forgive humanity.

This is your perfect being? He decides to find mercy eventually, like just whenever He gets around to it? He had something better to do?
are you Jewish by any chance?

This was my understanding. God doesn't "speak" with us since that would make the whole omnipotent "creator and knower of all things" redundant.

God speaks with words and things, but it is important to discern if it is really his message to you or something in your head (daemon). God infused reality with his substance, so, inevitably, his message goes beyond a simple text or sound.

As I understand it, everything is a kind of fractal of his aspects.

I've had moments where I thought God was communicating with me. I remember when I was in College, I had just been laid off from my shitty job at a movie theater and I was walking to the bus stop when I saw a wallet peaking out from underneath a garbage can. No ID, no cards, no identifiable information, just a wallet with 350 dollars in cash. I kept it for a week before I realized it was a blessing in disguise, and I started using the money for small stuff like parking and my bus fares. God speaks to us through the little, unexplainable, inexplicable things. Keep your eye out for them.
