IMPORTANT: Writing a fantasy story, need advice now.

While making a generic fantasy setting full of the typical fantasy races, I wrote down a paragraph about racemixing and how it almost always produces no off-spring, and how it usually causes unfortunate things to befall those who partake in it like headaches, hair or scale loss, losing fingers, and blindness among other things. I don't want half-breeds or interracial sex mucking up the distinctiveness of the races but I realize this may be a very autistic way to prevent that. Have I gone too far in worldbuilding?

If the entire white population (mean iq 100) mixed with the entire black population (mean iq 85) on a one to one ratio the resultant population would be mean IQ = 93.

The question is, is this an improvement or not?

That's exactly correct. We could. Brazil is in fact the perfect example of this phenomenon. A populous country with employable people and enormous resources that nevertheless severely underperforms.

You are assuming both populations to be of the same size, which is clearly not the case.

Makes more sense then what I had in mind, although I will keep the elites being the most voracious race-mixers. It's an important plot point.

Yes I did say one to one though.

The surplus black people would not be counted in this thought experiment.
