I was listening to the radio, and the most atrocious piece of shit song came on. Just making noise, and a woman saying "I'm a MAN!" over and over. It literally sounds like a faggot screeching over construction noise. I assumed it was some pooner anthem, and looked up the lyrics-- yup, pure fucking trannycore. If that wasn't enough the music video also features a crossdressing man too. I don't care who this person is, they fucking tortured my ears for a solid minute until I changed the station.

Kim Gordon is most famous for being a guitarist in Sonic Youth. They leaned pretty far left which is not surprising. What's interesting is that she's actually considered to be among the ranks of the best female rock guitarists ever but her latest releases don't showcase this. Her voice has always been really rough around the edges....

Daydream Nation is worth a listen if you want more context.

She was a competent bass player but didn't switch to guitar until almost the Jim O'Rourke era. Thurston Moore posting about how much he wanted to fuck Eliza Dushku and leaving her for a younger, better partner broke her mind.

I think even this is kind of generous. She rode the coattails of 3 very talented musicians and most of her basslines you could probably teach to a monkey. I think her voice works well with some of their songs but this group was basically a brilliant drummer and 2 guitarists with interesting ideas.

Why did she have a guitar in the video, it's not like ANY of that was a guitar sound. Also I have my phone in black and white mode for night usage and totally forgot it was on while watching the video. It was extra fucked up in black and white.

FTFY.

Pretty sure this song/video is just old school gender bending performance art. It could even have an anti-tranny theme, it's hard to tell what point if any these art house grunge types are trying to make half the time.

She was always the inferior Kim anyway.

Her memoir is one of the worst I've ever read. Just every cliche of pretentious art student. I had always liked her work with Sonic Youth, but fuck that book made her seem obnoxious.

As for this song - she is possibly the original queen of Not Like the Other Girls, so who knows.

It is extremely amusing how the other Kim is dingy and dumpy but a significantly better musician and songwriter.

Kim Deal? She looks like shit now but imo she was attractive when the Pixies were relevant in the 90s. Way more so than Kim Gordon, who has basically always looked like a teenage boy trooning out.

Yeah, I couldn’t even make it through one sonic youth interview. Literally some of the most pretentious faggots to come out of American culture in the last 50 years. I can’t imagine subjecting myself to an entire memoir.

This song slaps for those with weird taste in music. Obviously it's an anti-man song but I feel it's also anti-trans. Considering it's from the perspective of a whiny dude, I don't know how else you can interpret this: "I like to shave my beard just so, manicure my nails, put on a skirt. But at the end of the day I lost my way. Don't make me have to hide or explain what I am inside. It's good enough for Nancy."

Didn't know anything about her other than that she's 70 years old and doing shit that appeals to the youth of the day, which is badass. Pretty surprised something like this would be played on radio.

I can buy that it's supposed to be an anti-man/incel song, but I still think it's pro troon. My interpretation after reading the lyrics was that it supports the incel to tranny pipeline by saying incels lost their way and are really trannies in the closet.
I like to shave my beard just so, manicure my nails, put on a skirt. But at the end of the day I lost my way. Don't make me have to hide or explain what I am inside. (What does the song say this person is hiding?)
Also, that's some masochistic taste. This song sounds like a jackhammer and nails on a chalkboard had a child. There is no melody, there is no bassline, there is no tune. I would, however, 100% use it to disband a homeless encampment.

Not troon-related but there is another piece of music that consists mostly of a woman screeching "I'm a man!"

"I'm A Man" -- Sussan Deyhim and Richard Horowitz.
I'm not terribly happy with this music but I'm still peeved that my CD suffers from rot.

I read the lyrics and I'm just about as confused as I was before. Who the fuck is Nancy? Is Nancy who he becomes when in drag?

I guess thinking about it, the decidedly un-manly guy describes how he's a NEET and can't get a date. Yet we are still supposed to jump on his back (to be carried/saved) because he's the man. He was supposed to save someone, but they got a degree and a successful career so he can't save them. Guessing it ties back to men being providers and protectors, and this guy definitely isn't that, but still feels like that's what he's supposed to do even as he crossdresses in his listless slob life.
