So lately, I've noticed that a lot of new people who get banned tend to post thread after thread to air their vendetta, we mock them, they get banned, they make a sock, and we go back to pointing and laughing until a jannie yeets the thread.

My proposal is to disable thread creation for new accounts if you guys want to see the "recent threads" feed filled with that tranny chaser's ramblings... Or just disable account creation and write "due to political refugees, your PA jihad has been denied."

Seconded. Making a thread requires a lot of background knowledge to actually get right without getting autism spam. Requiring a min number of posts and maybe a small time lock would probably be ideal.

The only argument against that I could see is that there are times when outsiders in the midst of a genuine happening are coming in and want to make a thread about it. I've seen that happen on occasion and it'd be a shame to miss out on that.

Also RIP that fat rabbit dude. Blessed poster.

Why don't they just add a "sock puppet" tag to someone's account, such as how there's one for true and honest, moderators, admin, ooperator, person of interest, etc. Would make for more funnies and would give context after they're banned, no?

Because we had one guy spamming new threads all weekend, he used at least three accounts in series after bans.
They weren't very funny either.

I'd rather do it because I am tired of faggots, who join this place and their very first post is an attempt to post a new lolcow thread anywhere outside of PG. Make motherfuckers lurk for a week or two, or better leave a dozen of posts.

No, that's not a good idea. It's a good comes with the bad scenario. It's better to let people post what they want and deal with it after then put in rules like fucking Discord servers have.
to work around the problem I mentioned, we might have a "request a thread" thread specifically for new users. If a moderator could just pop in and grant it, I think that'd filter out 95+% of the problems.
That would be a major pain in the ass for our overworked and mentally handicapped mod team.

Offer to unban people if they fully dox themselves, including a picture of their face and feet.
I'm curious how many of those people would do it.

That might result in people just spamming pointless replies in random threads.
