If she cared about him at all, she should be threatening to leave if he doesn’t get a job or sell the house. I’ve known people who were so strapped for cash that they lived in an empty apartment with nothing but a space heater and a mattress on the floor.

If she loved him at all, she would be pissed that she’s the only one working, that he sits on his ass all day while she pulls overtime, that he dedicates all, and I mean ALL of his time to a failing business, and that he has no fucking plan to save their WONDERFUL LIFE TOGETHER!

If she cared at all she would be pressing him about his future and what he plans to do because as it stands, the Thanksgiving begathon seems like it’s gonna an annual thing now!

You're assuming she hasn't. Remember his whole "something happened last week" thing that he never actually explained. Could be that. Not terribly likely, I suppose, and his...er..."plan" to get the money is literally the laziest thing he could do, but maybe?

She obviously tried that. In the age when she was a fresh kitten in his house he backpedaled really hard on some occasions and used phrases he would never use.
She then visited The Jim, had a job and gave up on his ass. She has no time to diaper a big baby in addition to her daily full time job adult life.

So if Kat really cared about Phil in the time she actually has (they see each other not very often), then, uhm, I dunno. They are like two people who don't even live together and have nothing to do with each other. They harmonize and react to each other like mountain goats and deep sea seahorses.
