I thought most of them claim to be at least part bog leaping Paddy, I know their current leader does. That makes them very far removed from being English.
There's also quite a strong Kraut crowd too - it's why they turned up so late to WW2, couldn't decide which side they were going to be on.

There was such an enormous migration of Germans during the 19th century that it's now the dominant ancestry in a plurality, if not a majority of states. Irish too but their population was never close to Germany's.
