I think that her having cancer is legit, that reaction she has seems too genuine.

The prognosis is the real question. Uterine cancer, as many have written here, is often very treatable. The bladder and UTI issues could indicate metastasis, or it could indicate her immune system being under strain from feeding the cancer's wound response, coupled with being immunocompromised due to dump truck size. It's entirely possible she is still in stage 1 or 2, or hell it may very well be pre-cancerous cells. If following DSP and chantal et. al. has taught me anything, its that lolcows will dodge bullets again and again.

In one ton family, my 600lb life's sister show, season 3 featured a deathfat that was diagnosed with uterine cancer, and she was arguably about as mobile as Amber. She had it for nearly 3 years before finally loosing enough weight to get it treated properly, and even then it was only treated with a hysterectomy.

The weight loss is the biggest indicator it could be serious IMO. We all know Amber couldnt lose weight if she tried, to lose 50+ lbs while eating like her is scary.

I doubt with her weight she would have been able to afford insurance, when I looked for insurance I was being flat out refused by companies because I had an easily treatable form of cancer in the past.

Was this pre or post Obamacare? Insurance companies today are not supposed to be able to deny you for pre existing conditions anymore.

Honestly the insurance situation int he US is beyond awful. As terrible as systems like canada and the UK's are, sometimes I still think it'd be preferable to what we have here, for the exact reason above.

Isn't this an exceptionally fast turnaround for a cancer screening? The only way it would be returned this fast is if the office she went to has its own lab. If the sample was taken at an ER, that's not likely.

Her survival will all depend on if the cancer spread. Stage 1 will mean she's probably going to be fine as long as they can operate. Stage 2 and beyond and that drops quickly

Um, this is a fat woman cancer. The majority of cases are linked to obesity. Fat cells convert androgen to estrogen. The excess estrogen is suspected to be the reason for endometrial cancer in fatties.

She's dead already. Her size is the cause and reason for this. Obesity causes a range of cancers and means they're diagnosed later, chemo is tough on even a fit person and lawd, she's not at all

Sounds harsh but she will be dead by year's end at the latest.


As much as I won't wish this on her this is wholly self made. Being fat kills. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow but it will always catch up with you if you don't remedy it.

Uterine Cancer can probably be treated and survived providing it hasn’t metastasized. Bladder Cancer is a whole different bitch. And a particularly nasty and painful one. You can live a normal full life without a Uterus. A Bladder? Not so much.

I don't doubt that her freakout is genuine, but I do doubt that she understood what she was sent. Seeing "cancer" on a medical form is scary shit, whether it's an actual diagnosis or an item on a list of possibilities that should be further tested. Four days is lightning fast for a cancer screening as I said, and it's far more likely that she was told she needed to be looked at by an oncologist or urologist to confirm.

I don't feel bad for her at all. This is 100% self inflicted and she did her best to ignore health problems for years. She's most likely going to survive and continue to eat like a human trash compactor.

Cancer is terrible. All my parents and grandparents either died of cancer or are currently undergoing treatment. None of them did anything to bring it upon themselves and none of them ignored their health. That's why I can't feel empathy for a 500+ lb binge monster actively destroying her health for almost three decades and receiving the natural outcome.
