As a muslim, what do you believe is the best thing to get red wine stains out of a carpet?
 
As a muslim, what window cleaner do you believe the prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) would use?
 
I've had the pleasure of going to a Mosque for service on a Wednesday once. Think like a southern church doing fried chicken and pancake Wednesday nights, but Islam and crazy good BBQ (all halal of course, no pork) instead. They had a service that was pretty much identical to a Christian Sunday church service, except they we're preaching from the Quran instead of the Bible. The congregation... congregates at the beginning and everyone catches up with each other. The Imam started talking, starting with a bunch of community news and issues, reminding everyone that was going to perform the Hajj to get their passports in order. He then launched into a great sermon about the sin of hate (this was after one of the more publicized Muslim shootings). Then there was prayer, then another shorter sermon of sorts, then the whole shebang was over. I expected men and women to be separated in some way or another, but everyone was in the same room, in the same group. All in all, it was a lot like any Christian church service you would see.

My question is are American mosques like this, as far as the Friday services go? What are the differences between Islamic services and Christian ones in America (aside from the obvious doctrinal ones)?

Mohammad was persecuted back in those times and was very patient with them at first. It was only when the other people started attacking him and other Muslims that he fought back.
Also, we don't worship him and the rumor that he's a pedophile is false.

She was betrothed at 9 and didn't marry until she was 15, and didn't consummate until she was older. Marriage in Islam is only valid if both parties agree to do such, not if only one agrees to do so.
 
If Aisha had come out as a transgendered camelkin during her teenage rebellion phase, would it have made Muhammad a gay zoophile?

(That's the problem with marrying someone who still plays with dolls and swings, you never know who they are going to be when they grow up.)

The thing is beyond that, people tend to forget how intermixed we are in europe, my personal answer is if you don't like history don't use a spade - you are who you are and if you find yourself unacceptable because of your genetic makeup you really need to ask yourself long and hard why am I a idiot.
