"The Entergy loss of power is a significant loss of power for our 60 hz pumps and the 25 hz pumps we power through the frequency changers, but we are using our self-generated sources of power to drain stormwater and pump drinking water into the city."

"This power loss also impacts our sewer pumping stations. Currently there is no backup power to operate any of those that were impacted. We are assessing how many of the 84 stations are impacted but the number may be very significant."

It's Jim Cantore, so the answer is yes to both.

Dude they saved is claiming he's a part of the Italian Navy and he's there for training.

I smell bullshit.
NOL is one of those places people running from things go to disappear.

The chick is claiming to be a nurse.

The other guy don't sound mexican maybe illagal honduran.

The weirdo guy who said he was there for training in the Italian navy now says he owns that car that is flooded.

I hope the decent people of New Orleans had the sense to be armed, because I sense a lot of looting in the immediate future.

14 billion dollars quite literally down the drain, I see.

Figures.

Holy shit, so this really is making up to be a big hurricane. Not as big as katrina but will still do a lot of damage nevertheless. how long is it expected to impact New Orleans?
iirc didn't part of the issue with Katrina wasn't so much the overall windpower strength but more that it just squatted over New Orleans and shitted rain for a lot more than most hurricanes which keep going?
