Hulk Hogan is reportedly paralysed from the waist down after undergoing the 11th back surgery of his career.

The wrestler, 69, has been candid in the past about the amount his body has been put through during the course of his illustrious 35-year wrestling career.

Now, his friend Kurt Angle, has claimed in a podcast that the star – real name Terry Bollea – has lost feeling in his lower body and is forced to walk with a cane.

According to Angle, Hogan underwent an unknown procedure in which nerves from his back were removed. No further details were shared of the operation and it remains to be seen whether he will ever recover the feelings in his legs, or if it is permanent.

He said: “He had the nerves cut from his lower body, he can’t feel his lower body. So, he has to use his cane to walk around.

“I thought he was using the cane because he has pain in his back. He doesn’t have any pain, he has nothing at all. He can’t feel anything.”

He continued: “So now he can’t feel his legs. So he has to walk with a cane which is, you know, that’s pretty serious, man.”

In 2021, Hogan admitted to having required a lot of medical attention over the years, saying: “My knees are fake, hips are fake, back is full of metal and part of my face is full of metal.”

The Standard has contacted a representative for Hulk Hogan for comment.

I'm confused, if he can walk with a cane, he isn't paralyzed. Did he just elect to sever the nerve endings for his lower extremities because it'd cut the pain?
Powerlevel, I had a disc bulge on me a few years back causing nerve damage and numbness, you don't have to lose all your nerves/feeling to be effectively paralyzed and in need of a cane. Even if your thighs are good, if your feet are completely dead to feelings, you aren't walking without assistance.

I was on a walker for four months even though I could still feel my feet, and if I tried really hard, could wiggle my toes.... .I just couldn't walk on them without tipping over. Technically not paralyzed, functionally? Paralyzed.

All that "I had to learn to walk again" talk you hear from the survivors of bad accidents or sports injuries? It's all true, and the best way I can describe it is, imagine that feeling you get when your hand/foot falls asleep? Only there's no "pins and needles" part to it, it's all that rubbery chicken limpness... and it doesn't wear off after 30 seconds.....

The "learning" to walk is learning how to keep your balance when you can't feel if you are even off balance.

There’s a sensory and motor nerve running out of each vertebrae. If the vertebrae move, it’s possible to sever or crush a nerve (the spinal processes, the bots that stick out of the bones, can do this .)
You can sever the sensory one and keep the motor pathways intact. So he’s apparently not paralysed but he will have some issues with walking. A lot of the proprioception (sense of where the body is and what position it’s in) is lost when this happens. I know someone this happened to. He can’t walk out but he has zero feeling in part of the leg and sometimes falls

Yea it's also why some Diabetics even fit ones have problems walking at times it's because they don't get any direct sensory feedback or it's dulled in some way that confuses the brain.

If you ever want to know that is feels like walk around with a boot on one foot and in your bare feet for a few minutes at first it's odd and you limp but your sensory feedback is compromised on the boot with your foot in comparison to the other and you start not being able to trust either feedback and your walking get's really unsure and not just because of the limp.

How can fake wrestling do so much real damage?
It would be interesting if someone parlyzed used Neuralink exclusively with the motor functions and became a wrestler. Imagine someone without feeling fighting.
They'd probably be dead within a month. Pain isn't there to make you a less effective fighter, its a feedback mechanism to tell what is and isn't taking damage to make sure you don't kill yourself by accident.

Fighting without feeling pain is like playing a videogame with the health bar hidden. Just because you can't see/feel the damage doesn't mean its not there.

Isn't neuralink the thing that caused a bunch of monkeys to eat their own faces then commit suicide?

This sent a shudder through me. Have had three spinal surgeries, could be looking at a fourth. Sciatica's returned. No numbness, just transient feelings of weakness and discomfort in right leg. Seeing spinal surgeon in February, see where things go.

Hulk Hogan age is finally catching up with him. That and severe pain through flaying other wrestlers like a bunch of retards, which was fun.

Fucking Bret Hart (or Yoko) at Wrestlemania IX.

i got a loophole for that one, he should not have been in the match to begin with. Mr Fuji in kayfabe must be the dumbest manager in history "My guy needed help beating Bret Hart, and is the new champ? lets challenge the Babe fucking Ruth of our sport right here with no rest and no prep time!"
