(when I had heartburn really bad I would sometimes take baking soda and mix it with some water then chug it down, I called it the nuclear option. Worked most of the time)

The nuclear option has led to other forms of dehydration in the past. With the current vomiting, I don't think losing more water out the back end is preferable at this time.
