How to post threads on any forums?

I was looking at the Lolcow forum, and I wanted to make a thread about someone, but I saw that I couldnt make a thread.

Do I need a role or anything like that?

You need to make the thread in the Prospering Grounds subforum. Then it will be moved to the appropriate forum.
