How often do you buy everyday shoes?

I am talking about shoes you wear normally on a daily basis, not for special occasions (like when you go with grandma to the theatre), nor for specialized activity (like sports shoes you only wear when going out to run).

I wear boots, I have two pairs a waterproof pair for winter and the other pair for summer. And I try to make them last for years.
I'm tempted to pick up a set of Solovairs for everything that isn't work.
Do it, solovairs are great. Their chelsea boots have lasted me 4 or 5 years now
My particular brand of autism is an obsession with American manufactured shoes. For everyday, I mostly buy SAS because they're actual cobblers who will resole their products. The last ones I bought were a pair of Thorogood work shoes, but for work shoes, I read that Reebok are actually manufacturing work shoes for postal workers in America so I've been looking into getting a pair of those.

I'm the same but with euro/UK made shoes.

In general making sure you actually take care of your shoes helps them last longer, though below a certain price point they skimp on materials and process. Leather, regardless of how much you paid, needs cleaning and conditioning and it only takes a couple minutes once in a while to deal with.

If I lived somewhere warmer I’d go barefoot most of the time. I like feeling the earth. Nothing nicer than wandering around a beach and rocks in bare feet in the sunshine .
Everyday sneakers? They just don’t last very long, I tend to get a new pair every year and relegate the old ones to gardening duty until they fall apart. Winter boots tend to last me 5 plus years or so, spring and autumn I like wearing boots, and they last forever if you keep them in good condition.
I’ve still got shoes from twenty five years ago but they’re not generally everyday ones.
Anything I use for gardening gets wrecked.

It would be longer if I could find shoes that were made of actual leather.
Are you interested in cowboy boots? Alvies are great and are real leather and exotic skin boots, et cetera.
They're around $600 a pair but they have a limited lifetime warranty. You still have to get them resoled on your own, of course.

Leather boots last for decades if you take care of them. If you're talking about casual running shoes or sneakers those last at best 3 years, or more if you don't care how shitty they look.

It also matters how heavy you are. If you're a fat fuck who walks around a lot there's a high tax on your shoe's longevity.

Once a year. I walk a lot and wear shoes out fast. For winter boots it depends on the kind of winter we had. They might last 2-3 years.

I have a pair of steel-toed work boots that I wear almost every day. Splurged on them and they’ve lasted me a good four years now and still look great.

Have three different pairs of sneakers I’ll wear when I’m not working, usually replace a pair every couple of years or so.

Have a pair of black leather dress shoes I’ll wear for nights out that I’ve had for about three years.
