The media, Dems, GOP establishment and Twitter (lol) will never get over Trump, he's their personal Boogeyman and they'll be seething and dilating about him long after he goes to the great Mar-a-Lago in the sky.
It's different to how Bushitler was the worst thing ever before John McCain was an evil, senile racist and Mitt Romney was some kind of gay-bashing extremist waging a War on Women for some reason. That was all kayfabe to get idiot voters excited - corporate America and the permanent establishment were fine under Bush, and would've been fine with McCain or Romney. There's no important differences between any of these guys, or Obama, or either of the Clintons, or Biden. They share a lot of the same donors.
They really hate Trump tho. Not for any of the dumb and mostly imaginary reasons blue checkmarks and dumb suburban wineaunts were encouraged to spaz out for (CHILDREN IN CAGES

). Because he represented an existential threat to the plans and moneymaking schemes of a lot of very important people (plus random grifters like Rick Wilson).
Globalism and empire is a multi trillion dollar business, and all the VIPs are 100% bought into it, from the massive woke corporations selling you smartphones made by Chinese slave labour and coded by imported Pajeet indentured servants, to the swarms of admirals and generals in the Pentagon who were outraged at the idea of winding down one of the forever wars in Afghanistan and BLUMF's refusal to take the bait in Syria, to Wall Street titans hoping to make their next billions out of all the "green" finance opportunities in the Paris Agreement.
Trump interrupted a lot of those plans, and they didn't like that one bit. That's why he's the single most reviled person (by the media) in all of human history - even the original meme tyrant Adolf Hitler hasn't had literal forests worth of papers and petabytes of television broadcasts and social media postings in every language known to man or troon dedicated to informing you what an evil, no-good, tiny-handed racist maniac he was.
Tl;dr - if the GOP is able to get back to "normal" (shameless donor servicing disguised as true and honest conservatism while they literally sell your children's birthright and laugh about it), the next Republican candidate will be a mere Hitler-of-the-week like Romney was. If the Republican base is able to get another candidate who's genuinely serious about representative democracy Anderson Cooper will literally die of a buttplug aneurysm on live tv.
