Just get up and do them. As soon as you start contemplating it, it's over. IF YOU DO start contemplating the shit, think about how long it takes to do the thing. "Folding this load of laundry should only take me 10 minutes". What's 10 minutes out of 1,440 minutes in a day?

This approach really does work, and if I can add sometimes just being thrown into it focuses you in a sink or swim kind of way

You need to remember that discipline will get you much further than motivation. Motivation is like “I wanna do it!”, but discipline is “you will do it.” Maybe try use motivation to discipline yourself?

A wise man once said “You rack dishiprine. True dishiprine comes from writhin.”

When I start to notice there's things that haven't been getting done I make a list. When I actually go to take care of the list I always try to do it all back to back and get it all done at once if possible. For me it's easier to find the motivation to get things done when you think about all the little things as one big goal instead of a bunch of tedious little goals. This way you don't have to find the motivation for each of these little things individually, you just have to find it one time.
