How do I get a turntable to spin.

Sorry. I am a bit retarded on vintage technology and I wanted to know how I can get my turntable to spin.

Move the tone arm closer to the center. On most turntables, the motor will switch on when the tone arm gets close to the edge of the record.

Approach the turntable from the left side, place both hands at the ready and start spinning. Alternate hands to keep a stable BPM, if you get too much wow, be sure not to rest your wrists on the base

I'm usually more worried about the needle itself, especially on the higher end models.
