Interesting times. Slowly seeing friends you know turn into bizarre pod people, due to plague insanity.
Only about two close buddies are with me in laughing at all this clownworld plandemic pantomime.
The rest are like the facemask wojak, glaring at everyone who blasphemes against the covid faith.
 
I broke the fucking law. I flaunted the state’s explicit “gatherings are forbidden for four weeks” order to go celebrate Thanksgiving with people I love. It was noisy and hectic, a day full of screaming children running around, frantic kitchen work to do final meal prep, everybody involved running late and confused, enough people to constitute a superspreader event, and I had no cell phone reception.

And it was fucking awesome. Live free and/or die.
 
Whatever the deal is for the spring semester, I just hope "3.5 more months of this shit and you got your CS degree" will be a strong enough motivator for me to pass all my final classes then and there. My parents being obnoxious libtards sure helps in that case because god damn do I want to move out and cut off contact with them and my dad's entire side of the family.
 
Feels like people like leading me on and just giving me attention or something just when I've almost gotten them out of my mind to just start it all over again. Meeting new people just never seems to work out and my confidence is the lowest it's ever been, getting really lonely.
 
I wasn't able to celebrate Thanksgiving today because the only family near me had to work, so I spent all day on the Presidential Election thread.
I hate that the only way I'm able to vent and interact with people is to spend time on a Internet forum that is dedicated to mocking losers like me.

Mom and dad put off their retirement so he could go to college and he repays them by never visiting, never calling, and pretty much making every excuse not to spend time with any of us when he visits for the holidays.

He wasn't a spoiled kid growing up. He got just enough love and support. He used to act normal before he went to college. Nowadays we barely see him and he acts like we burden him by existing. Idk if that's just how boys are or what. Either way, I miss the brother I knew when we were younger. Because frankly, this older version is a cold fucking fish.

I'd say most families have that person. I have a relative who is the same way. His parents pay to fly him home for Christmas and he spends all his time hanging out with his friends while neglecting to spend any time with the people who put him through college, and still support him financially. It's really sad to see this level of ungratefulness every year. This Christmas he's using Covid as an excuse not to travel home. He instead wants the money the round trip airfare would have cost his parents. Nice guy.
 
Doing OK. Just had a nice normal Thanksgiving with the family but now it's time to go through the sludge of final assignments, all of which are boring and therefore hard to make myself do.

Had the most peaceful Thanksgiving I've had in years because the people who come over and fight with each other weren't there. Forgot it was Black Friday and when I realized I didn't even care because all of my shopping is done :) Just gotta do my Secret Santa gift (when I find out who it is!)
 
Im in Turkey so we dont do thanksgiving, so havent done anything special this week, else than that havent done anything out of the ordinary for the last 2 weeks, building a new PC so I bought a new keyboard and microphone since the old ones are now 5 years old, Razer Ornata seems pretty slick so I bought it, it is way more quieter than my old blackwidow, which is better when people complain about your mechanical keyboard, on the account of microphone a blue yeti seemed too expensive so I bought a razer seiren x over my old elite, since I can just put a sock over it as a pop filter and use it, I checked corsair and all those and razer seemed like my cheapest choice (total cost was 1200 lira for both = 153USD) For PC im thinking of a budget around 2000$, I dont really care about RGB and all that shit so I'll figure that out, else than that I've been talking to fellow kiwifarms autist @MissJessiac, watching movies and playing this shit game called AFK Arena that she seems to be so obsessed with.
 
I'm moving out for good this weekend. I stayed through Thanksgiving, because my family doesn't want me to come visit again until after whenever covid is over. Apparently living with my boyfriend who works at a grocery store makes me a big risk. Likewise, I brought up how I wanted to find a job in the town I'm moving to. My family told me that's an incredibly stupid idea. Why? Because like mentioned before, working in a retail job is a 100% chance of catching covid, didn't you know? Like, wtf I kind of need money. I have an art job that covers my car insurance and other small bills but I need to actually buy groceries and utilities and everything else.

Now, I'm perfectly fine practicing precautions and good hygiene. I don't really want to catch the coof so I do what I can to limit it. I'm not scared of it. In fact the town I'm moving to is a lot smaller than my home city, and the cases are literally a fraction of what they are in said city. But that doesn't mean anything to them, as they bring up the outlier cases of people getting serious permanent organ damage or healthy young people dying from the coof as if that's how all cases are.

If you want to generalize and stretch the point, sure, but if you base your morality on what is legal, you are a bad person.

Laws are the foundation of the state. While they may be passed with moral intentions-- to protect people, discourage abuse, and so on-- they directly affect the success of the state. Good laws are those which create successful states, as unsuccessful states are replaced. It's natural selection-- only states with laws which create robust states survive This does not necessarily form states which protect morally upright behavior.
