Let's share our aging trajectories. Are you doing anything to alter the process, or just embracing it?

Mine is going something like this:
  • Age 24-ish: First white hair
  • Age 25-26: Hair pattern changing from curly to wavy/straight. Not sure if aging related or just general hormonal changes
  • Age 27: Shadows forming along the nasolabial folds. Honestly might've been present earlier and I never noticed, but one day I caught a glance of my face at a certain angle with the sunlight coming from the side and then I couldn't unsee it lol
  • Age 29: Undereyes becoming more puffy
  • Age 31: Fine crows feet maybe starting to form. During covid/mask-wearing times I got into the habit of wrinkling my eyes at people in a friendly way, since they couldn't see my smile. Time for botox?
  • Also age 31: fine line forming along my right nasolabial fold, my first true and honest wrinkle that remains at rest
  • Also age 31: joints really starting to feel the wear and tear of 10+ years of sports/weightlifting. Taking NSAIDs regularly and having to adjust my sleeping position and stretching routines
  • Also age 31: a few more white hairs on the crown of my head. Once a month or so I go on a spree and pull them all out
  • Also age 31: face is slimming. I like this change, my jawline and cheekbones are more prominent (this is why we don't get buccal fat removal ladies! your face will get slim on its own, be patient)

I’m in my early 40s and had children in my early 30s. I noticed my first grey hairs around the age of 36, but as I have dyed my hair constantly since the age of about 18, it may have been earlier and I didn’t notice.

All things considered, I look pretty good for my age and am mistaken for age 30 by a lot of people.

From looking at photos of my mother and her sisters at my age, I think the key reason why I look far younger than they did it is due to sun exposure. My family are very pale, but unlike my mum and aunts, I’ve been religious about maximum factor sun screen.

As I get older I am being more careful about diet and exercise, drinking water, and also have quit using permanent hair dye as it was wrecking the quality of my hair. Henna is fucking great.

I’m not planning on doing Botox or any other cosmetic stuff, I’m planning to embrace my inevitable transformation into a hag.

I used to age, but then I read Tom Brady's book and it taught me how to stop aging. So now I don't age anymore. I feel bad for all the people who don't read Tom Brady's book and end up getting gray hair. Should have read the book, fellas!

I'm 35 and thought I was aging pretty well until recently. I do a lot of skin care and sun care, and can be mistaken for mid 20s. But lately, I don't know if it's because I've been sick or it was just going to happen eventually, but something just looks older, like my skin is slightly rougher, and looks a little thinner, in a subtle way. I also feel like I should start dressing more appropriately, which sucks because I've liked the same style clothes more or less since I was in my early 20s. And I like trendy/youthful clothes a lot; zoomers have good style sometimes. So I'm not sure what to do, or how much of this is in my head. The Madonna thread scares me. I just want to do and wear shit I like, but I don't want to look like a pathetic old lady trying to be down with the kids.

I just hit 31 a month ago and noticed more lines in my neck. I admittedly have neglected that area during my skincare routine, but other than that I'm not noticing much in the way of fine lines or wrinkles. I'm active and will be out in the sun more to work on my food garden this spring, so I'm stocking up on sunscreen and hats now.

I've also dyed my hair since I was a teenager and as of October have decided completely stop and to let my roots grow out. The amount of silver shocked me, but when it's all in I think it will look very pretty, so I'm excited!

Like someone else said, the Madonna thread is a huge eye-opener and made me embrace the idea of aging naturally a lot more.

Didn't really check things in so much detail. Annoying things I noticed were accumulating fat tissue very fast if I don't work out, which was not the case in my 20s, and hair starting to grow in ears and nose, which is fucking obnoxious.
Back pains stopped when I started running years ago. But now my legs are sore almost all the time and it gets harder and harder to recover hard runs in one night sleep, which I was able to do.
Gotta actively fight things or your body will become decrepit and weak by the 40s for sure.

I became old at around age 8. I recall playing king of the mountain atop a pile of gravel with a couple of neighbor kids, getting achey and tired after a few minutes, and being like, "these niggers are trying to kill me."

Finding clothes to wear is such a struggle right now. Especially while I'm still young-ish, I have a nice body shape and I don't want to completely hide it under some drab loose fitting womenswear. I like how zoomers brought back the flared pants and crop tops (at the gym I like the crop top + high waisted tights look). I feel very out of place walking into shops meant for teens/20s. But the more "mature" clothing geared towards young professionals is expensive as fuck. $250+ for a pair of pants and a nice top, really? Where am I supposed to shop?

This, I forgot to mention how fatness snuck up on me. It started as post-meal bloat, that would go away when I sucked my stomach in, but it slowly morphed into a perma-bloat. Now I actually have to take my diet seriously, very annoying. You have to level up your fitness in order to keep the same body shape that was effortless in your 20s. Recovery is definitely slower too.

When I saw a miter saw at lowes and got excited at the thought of building a shed.
When you get more excited over new appliances than anything else, you know you're old.

I let my hair go gray about five years ago, and it's great not having to worry about keeping the blonde refreshed.
At first the gray had a yellow tinge to it, but now it's a nice silver color. Once in a while I will use a purple hair mask to get rid of any yellow that may show up.

And seeing Madonna has made me extremely leery of having any cosmetic work done, I'm terrified of it going wrong and looking like a plastic freak.

I stay out of the sun, drink lots of water, and quit smoking over 10 years ago, so I think my face looks decent for my age.

Última edición:
First white hair was at 15, then I got a few more, and by 20 I was visibly graying. Apart from that, I have lucky Asian genetics and still look like I’m in my mid-twenties even though I’m 32 now. No wrinkles and I’m still skinny and able to keep in shape without much effort. I do have dark circles under my eyes, but I had those as a child too.

I silver my hair, and could probably pass as a zoomer if I wanted to. I’m very short, so even if I did try to look my age I think it’d just come across as someone trying to dress up. I’m a bit too pale for silver hair and entirely unwilling to spend time in the hateful rays of the sun to fix that, but I’ve let the roots grow out and the lack of lustre was even less flattering, so continued dyeing it is.
