Between 2001 and 2010, the US military lost an average of 9-10 aircraft every year to accidents, with the Navy air wing constituting a disproportionate number of those loses due to the extreme conditions naval aircraft operate in. The rate was similar between 2010 and 2020.
At least one plane, and likely more, goes overboard every single year on average. You may want to stop crowing about what amounts to an expected operational cost.

I wouldn't brag about losing mult-million dollar aircraft to accidents, which is another way of saying shit doesn't get maintained, parts aren't ordered, pilots aren't getting enough flying hours and they definitely aren't being properly selected and trained to function in "the extreme conditions naval aircraft operate in", which is taking off and landing on an aircraft carrier as well as aerial refueling or night flights, all situations which have resulted in not just the loss of aircraft but well documented fatalities. It's tragic but most of all it's preventable.

Carrier operations are inherently dangerous and risky for equipment. There is a reason most countries don't bother with them. Landing a fast moving jet on a runway that is far too small for it, a runway that is also moving and on an ocean that has waves making the runway go up and down, causes aircraft to be lost now and then.

Out of 415+ in service aircraft with about 90 left on order.
