And its not just about Israel, despite shrieks to the contrary. Yemen threatening to close the straights to anyone is an issue the USA has to respond too. The fact its Israel specifically makes a convenient scapegoat for more charged arguments.
Fundamentally it comes down to brass tacks power. Yemen is perfectly free to try and close international shipping at its discretion. This is its sovereign right. Of course, exercising this right means it is declaring war on the United States of America. By doing so I am sure they prepared accordingly and are fully accepting of the consequences such a unilateral declaration of war on the American Nation entails.

The Houthi's, and by extension Yemen have decided this is a war they want too fight. 48 hours ago, they made a formal declaration that they intended to attack shipping in the Red Sea in contravention to the national policy of America. America is not the aggressor. We have been infinitely patient, but that patience is over. Let Yemen harvest the bitter gall and drink from the cup it brings. They wanted a war, and now they have it.

Please for the love of god take an economics class because it’s one of the main pathways to ship stuff from the west to the east and vice versa otherwise they would have to go arround the Horn of Africa or go through the Panama Canal which would add weeks if not months to any order.

This operation will fail again. We've all seen this before. Big fireworks, some buildings leveled, some commanders killed, etc. They can always retreat into their rugged terrain and resume disruptive operations. If the Military wasn't understaffed and wasn't afraid to send in the Big Army, then I'd be talking differently. But you cannot win a war with Air Campaigns and some SOF raids alone.

The American culture is centered around boats. They have holidays for boats. They killed hundreds of thousands of white men so their feral boats could sail around as they please. They listen to sea shanties. They elect a yachtsman as their president. They dress and act like sailors. They draw the entirety of their modern culture from boats. They post sassy gifs about boats. They watch the America's Cup in worship of boats. Their biggest event of the year involves throwing parties in honor of boats racing. They use boat slang like "yard" and "leeward". When you say "Iowa" they're not thinking of the corn. They're thinking of the boat. Their waterways are completely overrun with boats. They worship their Coast Guard disproportionately filled with boats and their Navy filled with boats. Their men sit around watching boats while their women sit around watching boat operas. They worship boats like USS Enterprise and USS Nautilus and USS Constitution and USS Missouri and PT-109 and the late USS Liberty while attacking the wagons that actually built their country before the boats took over. Their movies are filled with boats and their music charts are topped by sea shanties. They send boats across the world and celebrate when the boats make port because those boats are true red blooded American boats. They watch boat porn to a point where "seamen" does not make them think of cum but about submarines instead. Same strategy used in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and also the same that Israel used for Palestinians (Hamas still exists and is a fighting force, so Israel failed one of it's core objectives). They all failed for the same reason. The costs of policing are asymmetrically higher than just waiting the force out with the geography that's to your advantage in a decentralized system.

Ok I’ll break this down for you, other countries have unique products and resources that we need or want. This is because of many factors including the fact the us sold our production lines to other countries and exported jobs to help other nations develop and to gain Allies and soft power. Fast forward to the present and now those countries, that now have all of our production or contain natural resources that we need ,tariff the United States to keep their economy afloat and because America largely has had low or no tariffs in the interest of having cheep labor and goods for its consumers. The problem is that corporate greed and foreign governments getting uppity think they can fuck over the American population because they feel that they can’t do shit. So we use tariffs back on them because most of these places rely on the fact that Americans have little to no tariffs on anything to make a large profit and because labor is cheeper in third world shitholes, now with tariffs it becomes far less profitable to make something in a third world shithole and ship it to the US than it is to build it in the US. This is also used as a punishment for corporations and governments who think they can stab the American people in the back and profit off them like they are nigger cattle. This is also why we are bombing the shit out of the terrorist pirates they Make shipping more expensive purely because they want to chimp out and impact the lives of everyone else in the world.
