I used to work for Hardee's (Carl's Jr for people on the west coast) back in the day. It was easily the worst job I've ever had. Little pay, few hours, both the customers and staff were assholes. Something the manager did that I didn't pick up on at the time but realized later, was that she would intentionally put people on closing shift if she wanted to get rid of them. This is because she wrote out the daily schedules for staff, and stacked the closing staff with so much extra shit that anyone in their right mind would just leave. 1st and especially 2nd shift had it very easy by comparison. Whenever I worked 2nd, I would have the entire list completed within 2 hours, and then stand around doing nothing except make the occasional burger. Note, she didn't put incompetent/lazy people on closing, she was trying to get rid of people she personally didn't like, as if the place was her own personal clubhouse and not a business. She was also an admitted sexist, as in, she openly stated that she hated men. She apparently went through a bad divorce and treated male employees especially badly. Every single supervisor there was female. I quit because I was put on 2 week suspension for not covering someone else's shift in a snowstorm. I live on top of a mountain with some pretty bad roads, so risking my car/life to cover a shift at a burger joint obviously wasn't worth it. The person who was supposed to work and called out received no punishment. I was hit with a 2 week suspension.
I really doubt any of this is unique to me, but since you were curious and all
