I'm watching it right now, acting isn't the greatest but I'm invested enough to keep watching.
Also that Lost comparison is appropriate, Jack Bender is the executive producer and director of a number of episodes and he did a good chunk of Lost.

I'm still quite optimistic about "From" I'm very interested to see where it's going and they do have a singular character who is like "What the fuck? What is happening? Why are you retards okay with this?" I like him a lot but positive he is not long for this world for actually wanting to answer some sane people questions.

Could be worse. Fulci had a movie re-released as Gates of Hell part 2 that had a tacked on "Rest in Piece" title card added to it https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406799/ . And Uncle Sam had an RIP title card which is easily the worst collaboration between Bill Lustig and Larry Cohen who created the Maniac Cop trilogy.
There's a complete waste of Isaac Hayes too. Apparently Bill is proud of it or it makes him some cash because he keeps re-releasing this POS.

It would probably get up to page 2 before being moth balled. I say go for it in this thread. It's a genre I am very familiar with.

Then you have other shit like your Faces of Death and what have you. I would recommend watching Mondo Cane 1 and 2 just to see where it all started even though they're pretty tame by today's standards to say the least.
Goodbye Uncle Tom (which is making it's way to 4K UHD soon) is a fascinating entry and the penultimate film from Jacopetti and Prosperi. The directors are pieces of shit especially for making this movie so I'm not defending them but it is one of those movies that came out at a certain time and place that could never happen again. The director's praised the Papa Doc dictatorship that allowed them to do whatever they wanted to the locals in Haiti. Then you have the abundant child nudity. It's not a super graphic film in comparison to Cannibal Holocaust it's more about the exploitation of humans which puts it more on par with Salo: the 120 Days of Sodom. The directors claim it was a movie that was anti-racism but I don't believe that. I think they wanted to piss off the entire world and had their middle fingers aimed at everyone, white, black, Catholic, whoever, and whatever.

I like the fake mondo movie Brutes and Savages because the fake crocodile attack and fake tribesman fight. Also one of the best Riz Ortolani themes.

It amuses me that Faces of Death is on Tubi. Only the first movie but it's amusing enough.
The only graphic parts are the chicken getting it's head cut off, footage from a morgue and newsreal footage. Part 2 is the most graphic one because 95% of it is made up of real stock footage. After that, parts 3 and 4 is like a 60/40 mix of fake recreations and newsreal/morgue footage.

I, too, just watched this film. Calling it TCM uses the same criteria as saying a frozen Costco pie is the same as your grandmother's famous apple pie.
It does take place in Texas, it does have a chainsaw massacre, and it does have a guy wearing a human face as a mask so by a technical, bare bones definition you could conceivably classify it as a TCM movie. You shouldn't, though, because it lacks all the other elements that made TCM work - and I don't just mean the obvious stuff like the rest of Leatherface's family or the house or the cannibalism. I mean the fact that TCM was always defined by a kind of manic energy and otherworldly, detached disassociation with reality, a dreamlike quality that was grounded but surreal.
The feeling of the original (and best sequels) was almost as if the protagonists had driven directly into (or invaded) a kind of open air asylum. Leatherface in particular and his family to some extent were usually reactive and defensive - which seems a natural response to the invasion by 'normal and sane' people. The atmosphere and mood of the setting made for a chicken-and-egg situation, in regards to the origins and reasons for both LF and his kin.
This movie lacks both this energy, and sense of identity. It feels more like a paint-by-numbers or Mad Lib horror movie, with really generic elements that don't add up to being a TCM movie. If you didn't mention the chainsaw or human skin mask, people would have no idea of it's supposed identity.
It's got that modern reboot feel, the one where an already written script gets a few elements and names changed to fit another property.

The thing that really stands out to me making them really weird to sit through is how to overproduced (not sure if this is even the right word?) they are.
I always found the older movies apparent lower production value/quality (be it budget or just lower performance equipment of the time) a part of the film's grime and charm, the same can be said for the SAW franchise which I recently binged again. I don't like how "clean' all these new entries look.

I had a dream where I was watching a completely different cut of Scream 5. It opened and stayed with the Sidney character the entire time she's in this house with family and friends. The whole thing played out like an episode of 24 with a real time clock. There was only one Ghostface who may have been supernatural. Of course, I woke up before the ending happened.
