I have to be honest I laughed way too hard when I saw them. First is absurdity of some of these scenarios. And as @Pee Cola said quality of CGI doesnt help to make it look serious.

They have to really show you a taste of the lives of the innocent victims. It makes it much more satisfying when they get fucking slaughtered.

I know it’s bad to laugh at these but watching a bunch of kids getting pancaked by a car in the last one while an indie cover of Sweet Child of Mine plays in the background is way too funny.

Personally I find the “Tips from former smokers” PSA’s far more horrifying than those road safety ads.

Not as haunting as the Canadian one @murph posted but still relatively effective. Certainly moreso than the hilarious Irish one with the tornado car taking out a classroom.

There was an Australian drink driving one that I've never been able to find. I saw it at the movies once. It feels like lost media to me because it's been so hard to locate online.

The guy is texting his friend and he's like "man last night was awesome, got totally shitfaced"
and his friend replies
"Mate, you died."

I burst out laughing and couldn't stop, something about that absolutely killed me at the time.
