I've said it in his thread, but it's kind of amazing that Doug really isn't a lolcow (in my mind), but holy shit is he a carrier. Doug is just merely a producer of low quality videos to me; dude doesn't even have an internet presence outside of Youtube videos. No Facebook, no Twitter, no Instagram, no nothing.

I can't think of another case where someone attracted so many giant lolcows without being a lolcow himself. Or if you prefer, Doug is much less of a lolcow than the people that magnetized to him. Because holy shit have the people that left Channel Awesome branched out into some Grade A spergery.

It's amazing to think that he is the "normal" of Channel Awesome. Hope and Co. have really done some absurd things.

Go watch any of the Sibling Rivalry videos, preferably after watching the movie the Walker Brothers talk about in the video (and in private browsing, you don't wan't this shit showing up in your recs). Not only are Doug's opinions shallower than any other TGWTG contributor who ever had a real following, but he routinely misses obvious details; and once he settles on his shallow points, they become impervious to argument, evidence, or change.

I'd go as far to say Doug is not only the dumbest major contributor CA ever had, he's at the dumber end of the people covered on this site. I'm no clinician, but he shows almost all the signs of autism comorbid with ADD that exist once you watch even a minute of him speaking unscripted, and I can't imagine him ever having been in therapy, given how he was born at just the right time to not've been diagnosed.

Say what you will about Chapman (and I will: they're a low-rent, lazy, self-important scammer whose troonery cost them a lifetime of honey trapping), but Jacob Hope never spent over a decade getting scammed by Mike "Call of Dutthy" Michaud. No other CA contributor, past or present, has ever been dumb enough to sign away their character rights to that lithping tardo. Not even the Blockbuster Buster.

For that matter, not only did no other CA contributor ever think the movies were a good idea, no other CA contributor has ever cancelled their only popular series so they could devote their time to a show that made the Seltzerberg movies look like they were written by Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder.

There's no worse thing you could say about someone's sense of humor than "they thought Demo Reel was worth producing".

While I don't disagree with anything you've said, to me, dumbness doesn't equal lolcow. There are a lot of people with dumb opinions or just dumb in general that aren't lolcows.

Now with Channel Awesome dead and her relationship to Zack officially KIA combined with the very likely possibility of ANN losing any remaining credibility, support, and relevance among anime fans once the Weeb Wars are over, what is Hope going to do from that point on?

In the event of ANN fully going under and the way things are going, it's more of a matter of "when" than "if", then Hope will truly be, for all intents and purposes, royally fucked on all fronts.

Even if Vic somehow loses his lawsuit and the Kick Vic assholes get the validation of ruining an innocent man's life and well-being that they so desperately crave, ANN's days are still numbered simply because of financial issues and a lack of relevance in the modern anime community.

This isn't the early 2000's when anime was just getting really popular all of a sudden but information on titles that were more obscure, niche, older, or just not dubbed yet was hard to find. ANN is largely obsolete and its articles nowadays are worthless and often politicized. As it is, the only reason Hope is still working for ANN is because her ex is too much of a soy-addled pansy to properly stand up to her and fire her ass.

And if Vic Mignonga wins his lawsuit?

It would be a major public victory against the Identity Politics crowd in pop culture and especially geek culture and a sign that the current SJW zeitgeist is a fad and would definitely speed up the swinging back of the cultural pendulum.

Hope would look like an even worse person than she currently does already for supporting Kick Vic (especially in light of her approach to JewWario when she was with Channel Awesome) and she won't find any supporters at all once the SJW movement loses its momentum and becomes despised and irrelevant like the Religious Right did before it.

I doubt she'll be able to rely on weebservations. For one, the anime youtuber game is a lot more competitive than it was when she did Jesuotaku. She's an absolute no-name now compared to guys like Gigguk, Mother's Basement, Digibro, Glass Reflections, and Super Eyepatch Wolf, all of whom put content out more frequently and with higher production values than Hope ever did.
Right now Weebservations has 23k subs, but each video only gets ~1k-10k views, meaning that not only are most of her subs not watching her, but that she's not pulling in new viewers either. I think her style of making videos just doesn't appeal to weebs anymore. There's plenty of analytical anime reviewers out there who go way more into depth than she ever did, so she's not special for that anymore. She's not funny, she can't do entertaining editing, and I doubt she'll find a weeby fanbase with her woke opinions alone. She basically has to completely change the way she does things for any hope of establishing herself again.
