I really hate how the devs follow the trend of treating anyone outside Japan like second class citizens.

no unironically, if you sell overseas you have to support people from overseas, which means either ignoring support issues, hope the online translator they used doesn't completely mangle the intent (never a good idea for support issues) or speak japanese. it's a trend because they simply can't do it, compared to the rest of asia which speaks english to some degree and uses the same bank/store infrastructure.
at least they're putting some of them on steam now, so there's that.

There's a mod called DHH that massively improves the lighting. Pretty much comes stock standard on all new repacks and anything that uses the Bepin plugin manager.

You have to remember though, they were gaslit and put on the crosshairs by the whole western world. the coverage basically snowballed new rounds of rules on porn games in Japan. Basically they can never make a game like Rapelay again.

We gave a lot of flak to valve for their use of blinding HDR in Lost Coast and in the episodes, but the bloom in HS2 should earn every one of those kuumeru devs a flogging

HS2's characters look so uncanny, even though it's slightly stylized all porn games in a realistic style are gonna come across as outputting. At least Koikatsu goes all the way with anime cel shading, and in my experiences I had a way better time designing male characters (which obviously shouldn't be the focus of any of these games, but I appreciate the better options and variety in KK)

they made playhome, they don't really care. it was 5 minute outrage by the same ilk of journotards posting a hitpiece on sfm-porn including some questionable pictures which most likely came from her own stash.

the problem with repacks is it makes people dumb and lazy (more than they already are). good luck finding a fix for issues because all you get is "just get the repack bro", even when the error is caused by shit not in the repack, meaning it would do fuck all. at least the illusion repacks are just collection of mods for the most part without much interaction, but they still include some random stuff you can't find anywhere else which means you have to grab the whole thing.

not to mention by now that shit is so big it severely affects loading time, so unless you want to wait constantly you have to move stuff out manually, so might as well start from scratch and only add what you need.

They had a series called the Play line (Rapeplay/Premiumplay/Playhome) which was their darker line of work. While Honey Select does has some special situations with darker rape scenarios. Usually its the studio that does the heavy lifting for messed up situations

As for the content in general, Steamies don't care at all because they don't depict real people or whatever they claim. To add to the fucked up nature of Coomer Steamies, Kagura Games (The publisher, not the series being cucked by Snoy) localize rape games by claiming it's not a rape game even though it fails the dlsite check right away.
