I was actually thinking about this the other day. With all the consternation in the press about Elon Musk and DOGE, has anyone linked any of this to Homestar? There's a weird progression where "Doge" went from a Shiba Inu meme, to a cryptocurrency, to a goverment spending watchdog organization; but the origin of the "Doge" mispelling and pronounciation on the Internet was a puppet Homestar video (even the Doge wikipedia article references this).

you see, the thing that makes Homestar Runner so beloved is that its completely apolitical and people from all sides can laugh at it. Taking that away from the site completely destroys most of what made it unique.

While there are some good Homestar Runner episodes, most of it (ESPECIALLY SBEMAIL) is the 2000s equivilant of skibidi toilet.
Or maybe I just don't understand it because I didn't grow up with it and only bingewatched every episode of it many years later like a complete autist.

Strongbad hates everything except of course having a Cold One and making fun / terrorizing everybody.

In terms of the characters Marzipan and Strong Sad would be the ones most accepting of troons. Bubs would get a bunch of merch that catered to them because that's what he does.

Also.. I miss flash. Nothing has replaced it in the end, HTML5 has turned into control loss nightmare. Among other things/issue. Pretty clear once again why it was killed, especially when one takes into account it's most vocal enemies.

Here's some fun trivia for you 2000s Cartoon spergs:
In the episode Bloo's Brothers from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, there's a scene where a bunch of Bloo clones cut from one another, and one of them is a very clear reference to Homestar's appearance.

There's apparently more references to Homestar besides this, but this is the one I'm familiar with. It makes sense that a show animated entirely in Flash would pay a nice homage to the flash webshow that took the internet by storm early on.
