Until they get clogged with random shit, and suddenly your gutters don't do their job and you have water fucking everywhere you don't want it.
It depends on your environment, in Texas we get crape and myrtle. The buds from it turn into a shitty paste when wet and will clog your gutter guards. I will agree that they can suck but it just depends. Same if you are in a place with a lot of sand, shit will turn into a paste and clog.
Then you have the fun task of cleaning the guards, which is way fucking harder than just grabbing a hose and spraying out your gutters once or twice a month.
Really just depends. I put them on rentals and part of my house. Not advice for ever single state.
You could install it in an afternoon by yourself. Just cut the drywall to the new size, take the ladder off the frame, put an extra 2by on the outside of the rafters your screwing into and use good 3" to 3-1/2" screws, the reattach the ladder and door to the frame.
If its just stick frame joists for the loft then ya it is that easy.
Don't know if its a loft in a house or one in a garage. I am a bit of a cunt when I do an property inspection so make sure the ladder has a 6 ft clearance.
If its a loft in a garage, you technically have to have a fire-barrier one.

I had to dig out and put in an egress window plus ladder for a basement apartment. I hope you never inspect my project, it's all good, but you sound like a hard ass.
Don't forget drainage and sill height for the interior. :)

And yes and no, I'm not an utter hard ass. I do construction, I understand short cuts and why they are made, I've done a few myself. I know for example I fucked up the stairs in my house. They look nice but tread nose is inconsistent by more than a quarter of an inch, which I know exceeds code requirements, and that's because tread depths are different, because the original owner of the house was a HGTV retard.

I know and accept that someone will give me shit for it. The only thing that makes me very pissed and where I will start to rip apart a place is if its a clear safety thing. Its always a slum landlord too. Like I walk into a rented house/condo and I can hear the smoke alarm chirping from the front door. Or a Indian replacing the only single-hung window in a kids bedroom with a picture window, cause it was no doubt cheaper.

Somebody please help me out. I don't know where to ask. I spilled a little bit of silicon lubricant for my treadmill on the floor. I stepped in it by accident and inadvertently spread it all across my apartment. Now the floor is much more slippery and sounds like this when I walk on it while wearing rubber-soled shoes:

How can I clean this? Standard wood cleaners do nothing.

My wasp issue hasn't been so bad this year... I think it's because now there's a ton of hornets. Fuckers have tried FOUR TIMES to build a nest on my house. One three feet from the last one I wrecked. One I didn't notice under my deck. One right outside the back porch door. Give up already dammit.

Silicone lubricants are a bitch to remove from anything that you can't just use straight up IPA or Acetone on. You're probably just going to have to mop it several times with something like pine sol diluted with warm water.

EDIT: sorry since its silicone based, dump some rubbering alcohol on it to break it up first, give it a minute to sit then do the following.

dawn dish soap and a bit of warm water. works on most grease and lubricants.

if that doesn't work upgrade to some gojo or goof off

I am assuming it could be similar to a WD40, for me a soak in rubbering alcohol and dish soap with water works.

Poison will kill them but mixing peppermint oil and mineral oil helps to keep them away. Dilute it with water and put in a herbicide sprayer, then hit all the common areas eaves, under your deck, overhangs, etc.

It also helps keep most insects away that don't like peppermint, along with rats I think. Though Cayenne pepper is better for rats.

This, 100% this. Buy a decent amount of this stuff, and keep it handy. It cuts through basically everything, and a little bit goes a LONG ways. It also never seems to go bad, I think my dad has had the same jug of it for years now and it works as well as they day he bought it. I have a small bottle of it that I keep in my tool box, and it rips right through any amount of oil or grease I get on my hands with no issue.

On a hard wood floor, I would use a VERY small amount to do the initial clean, then go over it again with a dry cloth to grab the residue it leaves behind.

Has anyone used a HEPA filter air purifier? I got an air dehumidifier for my new apartment that was kinda damp. But I always had an issue with dust EVERYWHERE- I eventually figured out it was the cheap carpets the landlord had put down, they shed fibres like crazy. I used the purifier setting with a HEPA filter and it's cleared everything. For the first time there isn't a layer of fibre dust on all my shit every few days!

Solid advice.
And yea, seems to last forever I found a can in a storage unit, can was rusted but still worked well.

I haven't needed too, do you want to drop the type you bought in case anyone needs it.
