It works fine w/o privileges as long as you keep the nesting flag enabled.

It definitely didn't when I initially set it up a year ago and this recent article seems to agree that it's flaky if it works at all. Not making any claims to how valid it is.

For the .1% of people that care this is what I had to add to the conf to get nested containerization working:

Código:
lxc.apparmor.profile: unconfined
lxc.cgroup.devices.allow: a
lxc.cap.drop:
lxc.mount.auto: "proc:rw sys:rw"

After a couple of days of sporadic progress, today I re-imaged and clustered two spare hosts into Proxmox like it was absolutely nothing.

Pleasantly surprised by this. With vSphere it's a slow trial of 'DO YOU HAVE THE SAME CPU MASK? OK WHY NOT? FUCK OFF.' and other admittance gates to clustering. I get it, it's because live migration is the main point there. But here... I can just share config for shit like backups and cold migrate extremely slowly over my shitter network no problem.

Nice.

I dread the day Proxmox does me dirty and destroys everything but until that happens, I'm very happy. I'm really happy in the gigabit slow lane with a single interface and no SAN. This is fine. Fun, almost.
