Home Gym for newbies all the way up to upper intermediate lifter, all you need is:
- adjustable dumbbells
- adjustable bench

Barbell, weights, and rack are awesome, but only if you have the space/money.

Literally all you need. Once you get pushing advanced, you'll need others for assistance (machines, barbell, rack, etc).

Sure you won't be squatting 3-4 plates, but high DB weighted single-leg reverse lunges suck waaaay worse than heavy squats IMO. I do 85lb reverse lunges and my heart rate spikes to higher levels than when I squat heavy.

Need to upgrade my bench, need something that's just... Versatile. I need adjustment, the ability to bench 350+ lbs and maybe shit for sit-ups?

Should I just splurge on a Rep bench bros?

Yeah, just the $$$ is all. I've welded myself up a flat bench which is fine but I'm thinking I should treat myself since I'm hitting PR's again lol

Maybe I'll splurge on that bench...
If you can afford it, and it will help you make more gainz with doing inclines and benching more weight, then it's a worthwhile investment so go for it 👍

If you don't have money for equipment. As dumb as it sounds, you could improvise items as substitutes. Another thing you could do is some prisoner workout routines like Charles Bronson.

Picked up my first real rack after wasting my time with a 2x2 garbo on amazon, amazon gave me my money back after I attempted to return it and decided that they didn't want to pay for the return shipping so they let me keep the 2x2! With the money back + selling the baby rack to a friend, the new 3x3 rack only cost me a few hundred more. Hope I don't regret getting 1" holes instead of 5/8. C'est la vie!
