I refuse to be open minded to any arguments of the politically correct side of the narrative they refuse to allow me to question. This thread focuses on the phenomenon on Hollywood Nazism mainly to laugh at hilariously shitty efforts from the hollywood industry to wage psychological warfare on the citizens about an autistic vegan ruler.

Ok. I regret what I said now that a Jew offers me 100 trillion dollars.

I've been thinking a lot recently about how we've never really gone past propaganda versions of World War II in America, at least for the European side of the conflict. A lot of people still believe it was a pure good guy vs. bad guy war when in reality, like any war, it was very complicated. Then you have the cultural dissonance of Japan being reevaluated as a victim while they sided with Hitler and committed numerous atrocities. It says a lot that Pacific centric propaganda like Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips has been shoved into a dark corner while things like Captain America punching Hitler are paraded around.

Also in recent years (definitely around 2016) people started acting like Nazi Germany is still a genuine threat. A lot of post-war WWII stuff was very campy and basically used the setting as a blank canvas for fantastical stories (A lot of stuff like 1941 also used Japanese stereotypes for laughs). For the last few years now it's gotten heated and uncomfortably blood thirsty that you'd think we were still in the 1940s.

Not really though, The axis was the sole aggressor while every other country was stuck on the defending side until the USA bailed them out. The Germans had their grievances from ww1 but trying to conquer Europe and setting another muli million death count war definitely wasn't the way. Not to mention a completely retarded ideology built on enslavement of entire swaths of populace. At best the American and English had their list of war crimes but that doesn't really change the overall politics. You can argue about the allies cooperating with Russia which was just as bad, but they didn't have a reason to engage them yet (and did engage them after the war).

On topic, the issue with trying to portray nazis as as good is that it's pointless. The "one good soldier/forcfully enlisted soldier" is just a tired trope, and anything beyond it is just needlessly edgy.

And it's also the rise and the arrival to power of Trump, talk about a strange coincidence or "cohencidence".

I sometimes wonder how Nazi cinema would have developed had the regime lasted longer

Why is it that movies about Nazis are the only trend that Hollywood has milked to death yet it still keeps going? Whether it's Oscar bait set during WWII, post-war conspiracy dramas, or alternate history, they will never admit the well's run dry.

I am a huge. HUGE WW2 nerd. But even I have to admit this shit is getting old.

You want to do a realistic drama on an obscure part of WW2? Sure! go for it. Fuck ill probably watch it, but you want to make some shitty fanfic john wick rip off with an old guy killing nazis? Yeah no. Same reason Im not watching inglorious bastards. Why make up fictionalized accounts when you have some really awesome stuff to pull that happened in real life? It's the reason battlefield V's campaign sucked ass

I do kinda look fondly on the old ps2 days where there were like 800 fucking WW2 games on the shelf. I enjoyed a lot of them.

Gotta disagree heavily about Schindler's list. That's a legit good movie and the ending brought me to tears after holding it in
.
It's just that some people use the holocaust as a bludgeon to get what they want as opposed to a valuable learning experience about how evil humanity can truly be.

Generation War is a good Deutsche series, shows the Reich, the war effort, and it effects on civilians and soldiers pretty well, including a jew and how even the Poles weren't down with them either which is something that's not really touched upon by the Hollywood machine. Has got all the tropes that films above show.

Downfall is uncomfortably good for how maddening it gets at the end and is how you'd expect it to be for an empire in its death throes.

fatherland is a good alternate history movie because it’s not just evil Nazis everywhere

The rumor was. One of Scarlett Johanssons early boyfriends was a Neo-Nazi. I remember reading about it in around 2010. But any mention or picture has been deleted from the internet.

Despite being Jewish, it seemed Scarlett Johansson seeked roles in two Nazi films.
