Also here's the Olympic a few years later, after it was converted into a troopship following the start of WW1. The ship actually managed to sink a U-boat by ramming it with the port side propeller.

One of the last VHS's to ever be released in the now late 2000s. Even in 2006 many people still used VHS's. Many people say VHS's of this film is very rare.

It's sometimes interesting to see the roots of certain people who became famous. Be-Reave Secondary is a Collab between many artists released in 1999. The girl with the purple hair and a flower hat who I believe is named Miri is probably the first drawn character of hers for the general public.

Umm... I'm glad Noizi Itou got much better at character designing (even if Shouko Ikeda (RIP) improved on Itou's Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya light novel designs for Kyoto Animation's anime adaptation). As much as I love moé style in general, I'm not a fan of that particular sub-style of moé that seems especially prominent in early 2000s visual novels where the bottom of the eyes stretch down far too low on the face, overlapping the cheek area and often drooping down below the nose.

The "Winnipeg Nazi Parade" was an event held during the "If Day" in February 1942 to raise War Bonds for WWII. Around 3,000 Canadian soldiers simulated a German attack and occupation, which included deporting the entire city's political leadership to a mock internment camp.

Nitpick but the top picture is not the Titanic's grand staircase, its actually the Olympic's. In fact, no photos of the Titanic's grand staircase exist, and a lot of "Titanic interior" photos are actually of the Olympic. Its crazy to think but the Olympic was the more famous sister at the time, it got a lot of press coverage and photos while the nearly identical Titanic was seen as more of the same and didn't get as much fanfare on its maiden voyage.

He was the first, last, and only French monarch to ever be photographed. This picture was taken in 1842.

Knowing that he was the 6th president of the United States makes this picture even more fascinating to me. He lived until he was 80-years-old. He grew up while the American Revolution was happening too. On top of all that, his dad being John Adams meant he got to meet a lot of important people during those times.
 
Some British Egyptian expeditionary lads posing in front of the Spinx during World War I. This reminds me of that early Mel Gibson movie Gallipoli.
