Hey guys, how has everyone been?

I'm heading towards the end of my first session in university, and things have been pretty hectic in terms of all the assignments I need to have done.

But hey, it keeps me busy and I'm working towards a better future for myself, so I can't complain too much.

I bought some flour and yeast and want to make some bread later on. I want to get in the habit of doing that.

Other than that I went to the dentist AGAIN and got twice the Novocaine I usually get. The left side of my mouth and lip were numb until about an hour ago.

I'm doing pretty good. There are some job fairs coming up so I hope I'll have some luck with them and find a job.

I got over $100 in amazon gift cards today but looked around and don't feel like buying anything right now. No, I don't want to buy skeletons :tomgirl:

got really sick today, but actually so did a bunch of other people. i feel it'll look bad on me to call in sick this early in my "career", so due to it being a rough autumn so far, i've come in to work sick MANY times (but shh, don't tell) - but i don't get sick like i used to. since going vegan, the fastest change in my life was not getting really sick. i literally don't have the mucus with which to do so. instead my head and throat dry out hella bad, but that's it. not much in the way of coughing or sneezing. at work i'm too busy to do those things. /gross or maybe less gross idk whatevz

anyway, i can't really do anything well right now because of how shit-tacular i feel, so i guess i'll watch dumb things on youtube until i spontaneously crash into slumbers.

I have a cold, but its moving quickly. Sore throat for 3 days, runny nose for 3. I'm hoping tomorrow the nose clears up and I'm left with a cough or something. I can handle a cough.

I had EMR training for 5 hours straight today, and I kept having to blow my nose the entire time. I wanted to hit my head into a wall the entire time.

I have my first real day of clinical Friday, and a skills check off on Thursday. I'm not at all prepared for either of these things, partially because my clinical instructor is relatively incompetent when it comes to teaching.

I just want the week to be over so I can be not-sick and go to the club with my girlfriend. Is that too much to ask for. x.x

Woop finally have a fucking microwave!!

It broke I think like last Thursday(?) and fate has stopped me from having one before now.

Ordered one online, didn't have it in stock. Ordered another one online and they sent it to the wrong place, would take "up to five working days" for delivery (:_(

finally decided fuck it I'll just buy one from town and carry it home, wow it was heavy. Between me and town there is like a huuuuuge hill, so it really took a lot of effort BUT ITS PURPLE.

I think my baked graphics card will last me, I don't know, a year tops before the solder paste falls out of shape again or some other, more serious, problems start appearing, because I really don't trust such ghetto methods. But if everything goes smoothly and I get a job soon-ish, I should have enough money by then to retire my current computer for good and get myself a new rig.
Heh.

It lasted five months. I've brought it on myself by neglecting to clean it and playing very GPU-intensive games. Moreover, some of the switches on the PCB in my monitor were damaged last month.

I could just bake the graphics card again, but I'm tired of fixing that computer. At this point, half its components either are or once were damaged. I'll probably still do that though, since my options are limited.

I'm due to begin a six-months-long paid internship around February as part of a rather complex program I signed up for. It's designed to help young NEETs such as myself get job experience as well as some marketable skill. I can hardly wait.

My seasonal jobs are over so I am going to a job call out at Kroger to get something part time. Wish me luck!

I remember getting hired at a Kroger store around this time last year. I believed they hired me around that time because the Thanksgiving/Christmas rush was coming up. You gotta sell all those turkeys/sweet potatoes/baking goods/roasts/whatever for the holidays, you know. For this reason I believe that they will look into hiring you! :)

How did you break your first one? Did you put a CD in it?

I have my first real clinical shift tomorrow and I'm terrified because our instructor didn't prepare us. At all. The only other person who would understand is, no offense to her, kinda stupid.

My girlfriend, who should care, doesn't really. And it pisses me off to no end.

I accidentally slammed my elbow down on the corner of the kitchen counter a few hours ago and now it hurts to do anything with my left arm. Also, my boyfriend just put Malcolm in the Middle on TV and now I'm not going to get anything done.

Today was rather great. Living in Southern California, my sister took me to Old Town. Had fun just looking through the various shops, the Whaley house, and enjoying some free food samples (some chocolate from a candy store, some salmon and venison jerkey at a rootbeer & jerky shop,). Got a few various bottles of rootbeer to drink and a half-pound of fudge I was going to enjoy. Only bad part was that I only had a small piece of my fudge since my father ate the rest when I put it in the fridge to enjoy later but that is just a first world problem (still, I just wanted to enjoy the rest of it).

i got a calm position at work today while my less fortunate comrades got swamped by over 300 hungry college students.

after work i just so happened to follow a crowd and come upon a presentation by ray troll (http://trollart.com/), a famous artist known for his drawings of dinosaurs and other ancient animals!

and i've been building more friendships with people around the area and things are going awesome! too bad i'm either really tired or really busy. but yes, things are going well!

My clinical went amazingly better than I was expecting. So incredibly depressing to be there and see the patients, but it wasn't the complete clusterfuck I was expecting. Just horrible to have to lift someone who has no voluntary motor control below their shoulders, is on a vent, cannot speak, and is under contact precautions.

Nine hours also seems to go much more quickly on a nursing unit than anywhere else. I'm actually looking forward to next week.

I could never do that job, too much heart break.

But I am glad there are people who can, Congratulations on it going well and my thanks to you an your whole profession.

I recently got back from the hospital after being beaten up by my microwave and banging my head against a counter. The doctor thought I might have cracked my skull because of the amount of blood and how I was going in and out of consciousness, but it turns out I have a thick head and just have a pretty bad concussion. Looks like I live to see another day.

aww man that's rough, but i'm glad you're alright enough to use a computer. here's hoping you get better soon.

not a whole lot going on around town today, i don't think. i made a horrible mess in the process of making a pizza at home. trying to make home cooking conditions more like at work. the pizza came out better this time than it did last few times (which was quite some time ago...). since i've learned a few tricks and have lighter work days, i'm thinking i should do more stuff in the kitchen at home so i'll have it under my own control, while discreetly pushing my lifestyle on others.

pizza i made today had shredded potato and carrot (carrot's especially good, since it's absorbant!!) layered with quickly cooked tomato sauce, with big chunks of tomato. vegan, of course. think it took 40m on account of the dough attacking everything in sight - the crust is definitely the most annoying part. but it came out tasty, and now it can't make messes. probably $6 total to make (yeah energy's expensive here).

i'm going to make banana calzones around here sometime whenever we get bananas again.
