next to the ritual, this is probably going to be my favorite film of the year. between the cinematography and how sheerly disturbing the film was in general, it gets a 10/10 from me.

my boss mindlessly makes the same 'cluck' noise as charlie. he hasn't seen the movie, so he doesn't understand why it freaks me out a bit... at this point, he's probably just going to do it on purpose to fuck with me :spudking:

anyway, the entire sequence of his mother becoming fully possessed (??) was incredibly intense; it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. i still clearly hear the sound of her sawing her own head off while hanging from the ceiling lol.
i'm kind of glad i watched the trailer beforehand, as i was absolutely not expecting cult shit- the trailer did a great job eluding the plot.

also, to anyone looking for a cam rip- there's a 1080p webrip floating around now.

Yeah, I only watched the trailer after seeing the film - I think it's a very good trailer, especially because it only gives an idea of what the film is about, and that idea isn't the complete picture.

I really, really liked Hereditary, even though I was tense through all of it. I just didn't know where it was going to go, which was exciting and nerve-wracking. And Toni Collette was amazing in it.

It made me really happy that they used a Goetic King of Hell (Paimon) got the gist of him right and didn't just default to Satan.

Late bump or whatever adding to my previous post

Movies never scare me but this is one of those films that every time I rewatch it I get more and more scared of it. (Seen it 6 times now). Toni Collette was already one of my favorite actresses but this just cements it.

And like James Rolfe, shortly after watching this movie I started getting nightmares for the first time in literally years ever since I first saw it.
