All the Hellsing adaptations were fucking awesome, IMO. Killer animation, plot, and vibes, with zero filler. If you haven't checked it out, just dive in blind, trust me, you won't regret it.
 
ye, I'm gonna be the odd one out and say fuck the 13th episode version. That shit was pretentious, boring, the animation looked cheap (it's Gonzo so no big surprise) and only the soundtrack was good...but didn't fit the vibes the show was going for. Frankly, I'd say the soundtrack would actually work more for the OVA's than the TV series.

So, both Hellsing (2001) and Ultimate have 13 episodes, right? But Ultimate only hits 13 if you count the OVAs. Which version are you talking about then?

I honestly like the art direction, it definitely has that comic book vibe that Hirano Kohta was going for in the manga.

Speaking of, legit, if you've only seen the anime, you owe it to yourself to read how Kohta truly envisioned it. Yes, Ultimate ultimately is the way to experience it because of how it's presented, however, it is thanks to Kohta's visionary that it flowed as well on-screen. There's some legit cinematic paneling throughout the manga and the characters are much more striking in black-and-white, and you can just see the raw batshit insanity the mangaka pulled from his brain (when he felt like it that day). Even the English translation had fun with how to portray accents with various characters, it's probably the closest to your typical Western comic book you'll see out of Japan, and you could honestly breeze through a volume in less than an hour if you want the action to move fast.

Might just be me feeling some nostalgia for the early-2000s anime because that was a bit prominent back then. Could've been weird animation errors for all I know since a lot of the Japanese were still figuring out how to work with animation on computers, but it's legit a look I kinda enjoy from that era for being uniquely early-2000s. I just like my bright colors, man lol.

Nah, I think the issue was because Gonzo was known for being a studio that would churn out multiple anime series (seriously look up their catalogue), but they would also be very cheap with their animations and colorings, as it would save on budget spending.
 
I wont stomach anything from a (still occupied by America) Jap trying to tell me muh Nahtziiiis are bad. Go wank over your literally drafted by a Jewish Woman mandated-pacifism "Constitution", nips. The original series had some sweet music though.
 
This shit is what turns boys into men. Alucard and Alexander Anderson are some of the most big dicked characters in all fiction. Also love the Major's speeches

I like how weirdly normal alucard looks in volume 1. He almost feels like a vanilla protagonist.

Man, don't get me started on HUA or the annoying mouthbreathers it brought, who seriously love claiming the parody is superior to the OG material.
