Great old school recipe site from a massively focused lady who had to eat healthier and documented her journey in a way that is the opposite of what we expect from that phrase these days.

Check this one out and all her other recipes. We cook something from here once a week. The stuffed poblanos (chili rellenos) are fucking great amd healthy.

You can make your own versions of "cream of" which are actually good.
Oh, absolutely. I by far prefer to make my own base broth/stock/clear soup, which easily becomes literally any other type of soup you could want. And it's so dead easy to make broths and soups, you shouldn't need to reach for a can opener if you have the freezer space for portioned amounts of broth.
I'm lucky that I have the time to waste my daytime hours cooking, but if you have the kitchen space but don't have a lot of time, just invest in a pressure cooker of your choice. I love my 8qt Instant Pot, I can chuck a whole chicken into that bitch, put it on high pressure with whatever flavourings and greens I want, a bit of water and cook for 30 minutes. Bam, dinner.

I did that the other day with some southern style chicken and dumplins. My instant pot and my crock pot never rest for long. Favorite do it yourself has been yogurt though. That shit is stupidly easy.

I'm trying to help raise my immune system, you guys got any recipes to share that could help? I already have baked feta pasta on the mind for a potential dinner. I also wanna try making smoothies in the morning like my mom occasionally does.
I make a tea with chinese dates (aka jujube), goji berry, chopped and skinned sand pear (I think some people call it asian pear), and black sugar. honey also works. I eat the fruit that i boiled and drink the tea. It usually gets rid of any sickness I might have. Citron and honey tea (유자차) is also good. you can find it in large glass jars, it looks like marmalade. Ginger tea is also good.

Doenjang Jjigae (된장찌개) is also good for health. Here is a link to recipe: (link).. instead of use "anchovies" you can use dashi powder or any buillion .. what matter the most is that you have doenjang , tofu, broth, and veggies . It has a bit of a pungent smell so be warned..

American style chicken soup is also good, use a lot of garlic and some lemon zest/juice. Sometimes I buy cheese stuff pasta (instead of regular noodles) and put it in the soup with some heavy cream and it is delicious.

I clicked on this & immediately knew from the look of the site that there's going to be some hidden gem recipes in there. :story: thx for sharing

Stick them in a blender to save chopping it. Add celery and carrots too for maximum taste (at a ration of 2 onion : 1 carrot : 1 celery in weight.)
I advice against blending onions, stick to a sharp knife instead

The blending will chop but also crush the onions, it will taste too pungent and will release far to much liquid (the liquid that makes you cry when you chop them with dull knives). And since it will be too mushy and watery, it won't behave well when sauteeing, too much steam and compromises flavor

Sharp knife always!

This is not true. It’s pretty common to blend a mirepoix/soffritto in home cooking. I do it all the time when I can’t be bothered to do a brunoise cut and have had no negative results.

But it's true though, that's why recipes call for finely diced and why blending is not used in traditional cuisine. Sure it can be okay if you can't bother with dicing, but it's not the optimal way and it does affect the chemistry of the mirepoix. It'll be uneven and far too moist

But if it works for you, then it works for you

Quick Blender Hummus (US Measurements)

Ingredients
Vouching for this recipe because i made some last night to go with our dinner,
i did not know hummus could taste so good
ive had store bought hummus before but the texture always felt weird to me, but these measurements were perfect. i didn’t add any extra toppings, so it was plain, but plain in all the BEST ways.
i could’ve blended it more if my immersion blender didn’t feel like it was going to combust in my hands

Thanks dude. I will try and make it as well. Hommus is such an easy way to get your veggies in that it feels like a cheat code.
