Its done, and its not really worth it unless you're a huge DC lore guy. There are some good single issues of Doomsday Clock, but they never merge into a satisfying and coherent narrative like the original Watchmen. Overall, it felt like a stealth Superman story. There's plenty there for people who like Superman and who are familiar with the various crises, but not much for those of us who just wanted a good standalone Watchmen story.

Even then, at least Doomsday Clock was written by someone who actually understands Watchmen and respects the lore. Lindelof seems to HATE Watchmen and its fans and seems more interested in trying to "fix" it tban, you know, write something with a distinguishable story set in its universe.
 
It is so fucking surreal.
Some group of passionless, ideology-driven asshats make show after show that just ends a failure. Over and over again. They bleet over the importance of their jiddish-speaking quadriplegic muslim lesbian tranny protagonist character and how that character embodies the fight against DRRRRRRRRRRRRUMPF and all that shit. Over and over.
And we end up with a shitshow (literally) like this, that ends after a few episodes with everyone's head hanging in shame.

And just like they did the bajillion times before, they blame DRUUUUUUUUUMPF the alt-right, and what have you, to deflect criticism of their abhorrently written shows that are devoid of any redeeming qualities.

Star Trek Discovery, Star Trek Picard, Watchmen, Batwoman, Titans, the list just grows as these assholes shit on yet another franchise.
Like locusts of the IP world. Countless IPs have been ruined with shitty adaptations already, but they just keep on doubling down and trippling down, even if all these shows failed to get past a 50% RT audience score.

I hate these talentless hacks so much and I can't even put into words how angry I am that they are allowed to continue despite the massive failures they have left in their wake.

I'm on my annual read through of the comic, and now I hate the show even more.

EDIT: Just noticed you mentioned Titans. Jesus fuck, unlike between Game of Thrones and Watchmen, those shows were having a contest to see what was the worse finale. I'll edge slightly towards Titans because that finale offended me on a personal level. Donna Troy, an AMAZONIAN, dying by e!ectrotcution, Deathstroke being utterly wasted and Dick not becoming Nightwing until the final ten minutes of the episode. Christ what a train wreck.

The thing that irked me I think the most about the show is they treated Dr. Manhattan as a magic genie. As in, the things he could do were accomplishable simply by wiggling his hips and saying, "Bippety boppety boo.", and could therefore be easily transferred to other people. The comic made it clear that the things he could do, he could do because he was a nuclear physicist genius with a fundamental understanding of the workings of the universe. It took him months to be able to take on a solid form. Handing his "power" to some rando moron would just be damning said moron to an eternity of incorporeal hell as their body exploded into particles without them having anything approaching the knowledge to build themselves a new body, much less have superpowers.

In the comic, Ozymandias certainly had the resources and knowledge to build a reproduction of the scenario that made Dr. Manhattan. But you'll note he never made the attempt to make himself an immortal demigod. Does he strike anyone as the sort of person who'd pass up the opportunity on ethical grounds?

Not to mention, he only survived cause he learned to re-piece himself back together. basically damning a rando with powers that more or less were a survival instinct. Some charmer he is.

These channels know whats up, the limited series category is where channels put lower quality stuff out because they know it wouldnt be able to compete and win in the drama category. FX puts most of their shows in that category because its pretty easy to sweep. HBO only just realized that. Look up the competition the last decade, its either HBO or FX winning and lots of 3rd rate competition.

I knew it would be shit when I heard that Lindelof was going to handle the adaptation and especially after he posted that cringy "how do you do fellow Watchmen™ fans?" letter on Instagram as a response to the people who were worried that he would do a shitty job.

From what I remember Lindelof's letter where he was making it clear it would be a sequel came later, at the start the story was simply "HBO is making a Watchmen TV series" and I, like I assume most people, assumed it was going to be an actual adaption of the comic.
 
Tbf I'm glad he said limited series because half these shows end up with unnecessary second seasons anyway.

I don't get why people are surprised woke shit won a competition. These competitions are a way to market the product past it's due date. Woke shit isn't made to entertain, it's made to propagandize. Entertainment and being existing properties is the sugar that gets people to eat it. Giving an award is just another type of sugary sprinkles to get more people to eat it.

It reminds me of that old extras bit by ricky gervais. In that show (worth a watch), famous actors play themselves. But then they're exaggerated to a comedic extreme.

In the show, Kate Winslet is playing herself as foulmouthed actress playing a nun in a holocaust movie, because holocaust movies are a surefire way to get an oscar. After all, Kate Winslet had been nominated 5 times, but never won.

It ended up coming true in real life, as she finally got an oscar for playing in a holocaust related movie "the reader".

Of course woke shit is going to win prizes. Look at which won. Rupaul's drag race. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. 3 wins for Watchmen.
 
Still wonder why Wokemen didn't go with a cult around The Comedian if they wanted a racist/sexist/ebil bigot group inspired by a character from the original story. Especially since unlike The Comedian, Rorschach's got some terminally online fan status as a gay/asexual icon depending on who you talk to and how much they like projecting their own headcanons onto him.
I always assumed he hated sex and didn't like women because his mother was an abusive whore, but what do I know.
