Um sorry sweaty The Leftovers was amazing.
I thought it was both amazing and terrible, though I'd say the amazing far outweighed the terrible til the last season.

All of it even the horrible Bai Ling episode?
I liked Lost too, even though I still think a lot of it was terrible, and the fact that it marked the beginning of JJ Abram's patented mystery-box format of "story" telling as a successful financial model for TV and movie writing makes it one of the most negatively influential shows for current entertainment imho

Also, which was worse, the Bai Ling episode, or the Paul&Nikki story arc?

Lol nikki and paolo wasn't terrible. It was the story of two greedy assholes who got their comeuppance.

I'm more upset they killed Sun, Rousseau, Sayid, certain characters. Yet Kate lives. (And I say that having become a fan of hers because of her enthusiasm as Wasp)

'Not Penny's boat' still gets me as does Juliet's ending....

Nikki and Paulo got a hilarious episode devoted solely to thoroughly destroying them (and signalling to the audience "we're course-correcting this awful season") , so I'll pick the totally pointless "er, what else can we explore about this character's past?" Jack/Bai Ling atrocity.

YASS TATTOOS

Lol the paralysis/buried alive shit was horrifying.

Stop! STOP it's already dead after all the cash-ins (Prequel video game, prequel comics and the cartoon (the last one because fuck Fishfucking enthusiast Alan Moore)

I fucking loved it.

Its definitely gonna piss off Fox News tho.

Also Don Johnson is the
Drew Barrymore/Kieran Culkin/Janet Leigh

I'm just excited for Jean. Plus I like Regina King's outfit. The little nods here and there to the comic were interesting.
the tv show Frances Fisher is watching, the justice book in don Johnson's office, the ship looking like nite owls, ozy spanking his stable boy, the pocketwatch, the report about mars, and the references to President Redford

Director of new Watchmen adaptation: We decided that the modern equivalent to fear of a thermonuclear holocaust is policing and Black Lives Matter

And people wonder why Alan Moore refuses to let any adaptations use his name.

“What, in 2019, is the equivalent of the nuclear standoff between the Russians and the United States?” series creator Damon Lindelof asked about the original Watchmen’s central question at the 2019 Television Critics Association press tour in July. His answer: “It just felt like it was undeniably race and policing in America.”

Part of his approach, he said, was to build a writers’ room that had only three white men in it, which then forced him to understand just how much white men had been his “tribe” to that point. It required listening to the show’s cast (filled with black actors like Regina King and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II). And he learned from there that listening is only half the battle.

That's cool jellycar, you keep us updated on how great this show I'm never watching is.

And to no surprise, the critics love it while sane folks hate it.

are you trying to hurt my feelings :c (Legion is amazing bro)

Aubrey and Dan definitely deserved emmys, dear. That is for sure.
But a lot of it just gave me headaches.
I did love the dances and Jean getting high in her bedroom tho.

Seriously their snubs are among the worst in award show history. Dan literally pulled a Shelley Duvall to perfect the role. And Aubrey....holy shit Aubrey.

Also Kirby Morrow bae was hobo benny in the first season.

I buckled down and watched it for y’all to not see it . Let’s just say ... it’s bad but not for the reasons you think .
It both ignores and respects its legacy
The writing is sub par
You can’t root for anybody
The only thing they got right is how to use music correctly
The new characters are bland

The show starts in 1921 with a sequence that will Alienate anyone who is a fan because it has nothing to do with the themes of watchmen

I’m Ok cops wear masks to hide their identity , why do some cops have cute little personas and costumes ?? That goes against the keen act of 79

The rorshach group is a white supremasist operation , thus the only ones that may know the truth I can’t root for

The cops abuse their anonymity even the one with a good heart ( give us someone to root for )

There is squid rain ( I don’t hate it it’s just dumb )

Veidt is living alone with faulty robots

Black Oklahoma for no reason

Obvious black dude is black kid from the prologue ( you’ll know what I mean if you watch the episode ) they didn’t even do the twist right like they did with rorshach

What’s the point of setting this world in watchmen if there ain’t going to be a reason for it to be there !!

The show's alright. This isn't Watchmen, it's only by name. If anything it would be cool to see this show serve as a prologue to Watchmen's actual sequel Doomsday Clock which I highly recommending reading if you enjoy Watchmen.

At the start I was like "OK its the Tulsa Race Riot but what does it have to do with Watchmen?"

And then

A black woman in a ghetto nun habit goes all Black Panther on a dude in a trailer. Her reason? "I could smell the white supremacy! Like BLEACH!"

No thank you.

The SJW disease is always fatal. It's funny how popular media always presents POC doing horrible things to white characters, yet they can't be seen as racists in fear of installing controversy in the mainstream media and online.

To be honest I was never a fan of the Watchmen. I never understood how the comic series was so profound because I never grew up a fan of comics; just watched the popular TV and movie adaptions of 90's Batman and Spider-man. However, I did enjoy the action scenes of the movie when I was invited to see it on my birthday.
