That's pretty much what Shin Megami Tensei does, so I actually WOULD put it past Viv to include something of the sort because she's a media illiterate hog who only knows how to make characters swear, cry about daddy issues and make sex jokes

If Viz was clever she could have drawn a sharp and unforgetable contrast, everyone in the show (i.e. demons) is crude, crass, swears nonstop and moves and talks like a rubber monkey on crack.

Having angels be quiet, reserved, talk slowly and clearly, and have slower and more subdued animation while never swearing, just generally being classy, would have been a big "wow" moment and also incredible memorable.

They actually did something like this with fucking Helluva Boss of all things, where they made Dearie all condescending and fake-polite while banishing the cherubs from heaven. If Adam's allowed to basically just be Blitzo, then why didn't Dearie either let them back in or be like "Nah, fuck you guys, get the fuck out of heaven and eat dick, lol"
It would have had way more effect if Heaven was all overly classy then just casually went "Thank you for your time, princess Morningstar, our angels will see you in six months" and Charlie realizes they mean the exorcists.

Okay listening to the songs, most of them are decent. Though Lucifer really doesn't like a dad, he sounds like a brother or friend than an actual father figure, his duet with Charlie is fine until you remember Lucifer is supposed to be her father yet sounds younger. The Alastor duet is peak evidence that Alastor is a gary stu OC.

Also (as expected), Brandon Rogers didn’t even attempt to sound feminine. Isn’t that so funny, guys? A sexy woman who sleeps with a lot of guys (as confirmed by Viv) with an unattractive male voice? That’s totally original! I never get tired of that trope! I sure can’t wait for Viv to include a villain named “Mr. Big” and he turns out to be a midget! These are all stupid fucking cliches jokes we can always laugh at! Who cares about Faye Mata’s fitting performance as her anyway? (I still don’t even know why I’m upset over Katie Killjoy’s voice actress being replaced with a dude. Like, I get she’s just a fucking cartoon character, but it annoys me to no end. Maybe someone can explain this.)

Whatever man, I'm not even gonna ask why Alastor thinks it's a good idea to curse at Lucifer, because this show seems so rushed and passionless. There's no build up to anything, things just happen, and then they stop happening, like it's just a collection of connected clip shows.

Hewwo. Just watched the leaks for episodes 5 & 6.

Someone mentioned getting jump-scared by the musical numbers a few pages back, and I really felt it in these two episodes. Absolutely nothing is given room to breathe. Dramatic points happen in a few lines and we as an audience can't even mull on it before another "shocking" story point pops up.

HH is literally becoming my most hated form of storytelling where "stuff just happens."

Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I had a hard time making it through the club scenes in episode 6 because of the constantly flashing colors.

My Current HH rating: 4.5/10

ETA: This show is a fucking disaster. I can't imagine what all the fans who were hyping this up over the last 4 (?) years think if this is the culmination of all the lore they collected.
