Hazbin Hotel / Helluva Boss Thread - Now a Griefing Thread
It's funny that of the 4 characters confirmed not to be from the US or vague central America country in case of Carmilla, 3 of them are British (Pentious, Velvette, and Zestial) and Cherri is the only other character who's neither British nor American (But considering how closely Australia is tied to Britain, and imagining the shitstorm if she was an Aboriginal with her design, that's not saying much even if Viv gave a damn about a Sinner's background.) Admittedly Niffty is a wild card since we don't know if she's a Japanese American or not.
Really it can only be said so many times that Hazbin completely ignores one of the strongest aspects an afterlife setting allows, that being you can have a character from any region and era, and have them able to interact with another character from a wildly different era and region. Instead basically everyone is from the US or Britain, and acts like they'd fit right into the 21st century America besides the odd gimmick like Alastor being a radio host (With even that being massively toned down compared to the pilot) or Zestial speaking Elizabethan-style English.
Well, Shit-bed (Abel) is pale and a fat faggot (like plenty of males nowadays), while Chad-dam looked Middle Eastern. So it's hard to say. Maybe Eve looked "Indo-European"?

Then you got Vaggie who is supposedly a heavenborn but speaks Spanish because...she did so in the pilot. So she has to in the actual show, even though her entire backstory has changed by then.
And while this is unrelated, I do find it funny how when Niffty starts singing (poorly) in Japanese, no one can understand her. You think Charlie who, as far as we know until they say it in the show, is over 200 years old would know multiple languages. Or at the very least, not have English as her native language because Hell is not a country. Are there also no other Japanese-speaking people in Hell? Someone made a suggestion that there should have been an influx of Japanese Sinners enter the hotel after seeing Niffty give her opinion on the news, and that would have been kind of fun to see. But no; I guess we had to have the "no one can understand the foreign character" trope because that was so funny. Why did Niffty randomly start singing in Japanese when she's been only speaking fluent English up to this point? Well, how else are we supposed to know when a character has a nationality outside of USA if they don't have random outbursts of speaking another language?
But the race and ethnicity on these characters never really mattered to begin with; they're just "fun little facts" that Viv added on without thinking if it would make sense. Niffty was a white woman in her 20s who died in the 50s, but then made her Japanese-American without changing any of that other background because her pilot VA could speak Japanese well. So now she's a Japanese American woman in her 20s who died in the 50s...so yeah. A less egregious example is making Cherri Bomb be from Australia; minimum research would show the 80s style is different there than the US.
LoL, ironically, this is where I would agree with xitter & woke tards (for the wrong reasons). Where are the non-Whites in hell? I mean, it's peculiar how we get the diversity of faggotry and troonism, yet they are oddly White and potentially (((white))). I see some nigger or spic here and there, yet there is great potential for some Hindoodoos or Africans and even Asians around; to enhance the world building. Even Jews, damn!
Well, the easier answer would be "writing other cultures is hard. How are we going to write accuretely a Liberian, Burkina Fasean, Qatari, Kyrgyzstani or Nepalese who came to hell?"
Well that's just stupid. What culture even is there in hell? Did Vivzie explain that in a livestream from 8 years ago that can only be found through the Wayback Machine in an unlisted video? I would love to see the cultures, customs and mindsets that sinners were forced to accept in hell. But that wouldn't make sense as not every sinner will fall into similar belief systems.
Are we to really believe that every sinner becomes a Westerner once they go to Hell? Do they all become millenial speaking edgelords who swears a lot? That's a pretty dumb way of assimilating. Do they all become white?
My idea was (obviously I don't read anything that Viv is saying/tweeting):
As in real life, people want to live next to people of their own culture (think Chinatowns for example). So Pentagram City is inhabited by Anglo-adjacent cultures (which explained why britbongs like Velvette or Snakeman live there or Aussie Cherry Bomb as well as US Hispanics. Still-13% should be black. Unless i.e white Canadians, Aussies,Kiwis have crowded them out.....)
There are other cities, villages, towns, settlements in every ring for i.e German sinners (imagine Hitler being an overlord there...), Latvian sinners, Czech sinners, Japanese sinners (preferably on an island), the divers tribes of Africa etc. These places speak their own languages and look the part,too.
Yes, writing other cultures is hard but, like in the Fallout games, you could just mention that other places exist without having to show them. I.e in a dialogue, on a map, a news paper article, an ad ("Visit Hellish Czechia"). Or have a Czech sinner visit Pentagram City and speak with a Czech accent and have her mention she was from "abroad,Czechia". Simple and effective.
The idea that we all become sex&drug addicted English speaking LA dwellers after we die and go to hell is just lazy/bizarre writing.

You can't have 80% of the cast be gay while writing for cultures that universally revile fags and unfortunately for the writers that's every culture except 2020s western progressive one.
Personally, I'm a fan of the fact that Viv seems to have made Heaven into an an ethnostate and had the Spanish speaking lesbian wind up in hell.
For whatever reason, reading the last bit of the thread, I remembered this picture, which, I appreciate because the soldiers surrounding Christ at least all appear to be from different times and cultures, which I appreciate, because Heaven and Hell in HH seem to only feature people from the Anglo-sphere in the past century, except for a few famous Biblical figures.

I'm more inclined to believe this is just "hell but really less bad." And Heaven is "unreachable" to practically the whole cast (except Chaddam, who is finally there).
