It depends. If they find something heavy, he is going to face consequences. The trip alone isn't enough but if they have more stuff on him, they will use them. Don't assume he has nothing incriminating. They will ask him about his friend, he will throw them under the bus, he will be let free and he will be arrested on a later date after what they found on him get investigated.

To squash anyone's hopes about what will happen, my guess is as follows:
1) Hasan will hire a team of lawyers who will weigh his options
2) Those lawyers will either decide that the case is:
2a) Frivolous
2b) Winnable, but will take enough time to beat in court
2c) A death sentence
Depending on how the lawyers decide, Hasan will:
3a) Farm it for clout while the lawyers easily prove to a court the case is frivolous
3b) Genuinely unsure, but most likely Hasan won't want the heat from this so he will do the same as 3c
3c) Hasan will literally snitch on any and every source of funding and cut any deal possible to avoid getting fined and/or going to prison

Even if he doesn't go to prison, I want some kind of long term consequence for Hasan. Like more and more people refusing to do anything with him, even getting abandoned by his orbiters (fat chance) or something.
Squash what? For now he is just going to be questioned. Prison time isn't at play unless they find something while searching his stuff or interrogating him. The Cuba trip will land him a fine, a search of his electronics and being put in a list that sees him getting detained at airports. There might be more stuff later but that is it for now.
