Honestly, I don't see tumblr itself as what did so much damage; at least not AS much damage as Facebook or Twitter and other social media sites. Rather, for the longest time, Tumblr was more of a containment site for the craziest fuckers there on the net. The problem is when payment processors and the like suddenly decided porn=bad, and to stay in their good graces, a lot of sites (including tumblr) decided to clamp down on porn.
