I'm not surprised this worthless Turkroach piece of shit is abusive to his dog. Yet one more reason for me to hate him, as if I didn't have enough reasons.

I've had dogs my whole life, including really BIG dogs. One of my dogs now is a Great Dane. He's 32" at the shoulder and 145lbs or so. He's my best friend and my companion. I love him to death. He's a big goofball, but he's a Dane so he can also be really stubborn. He pulls on a leash, so whenever he's on the least I also use a Martingale collar (the metal ones with the blunt prongs inside). They don't cause pain, they remind the dog of the feeling of their mother's teeth when they were puppies and their mother was correcting their behavior. It's the only time I ever use that kind of collar, because the idiot will pull so hard he chokes if I walk him with a normal collar. But as soon as we're back in the house the Martingale collar comes off, because he doesn't need it otherwise. I've never used shock collars and never will.

Hasan absolutely shocked poor Kaya. The dog didn't twist it's ankle or anything else. That bed isn't tall enough to twist a dog's ankle. I've got a bed just like that in my Dane's kennel, because he chews up the soft kinds of beds. It's kind of like an army cot where the fabric is suspended from a metal frame to give the dog a firm, but supportive place to lay down. There's nothing on that bed for the dog to catch itself on. And you can tell from Hasan's body language he was the cause of the yelp. He wasn't surprised by it. He wasn't concerned about it because he knew why the poor dog yelped. I don't know about you, but any time I hear my dog yelp in pain I immediately go check on my dog to see if it's something serious, because the dog may need to go to the vet if they stepped on something like glass or a nail. Hasan didn't give a fuck, because he was the cause of the dog's pain. And then you can see Hasan's body language shift when it dawns on him how this could make him look bad, and you see the gears start turning in his head trying to think up some bullshit excuse to get people to not look into it. He's a narcissist first and foremost.

I really do hope this is the turning point where Hasan finally fucked up so bad that there's no recovering from it. Permanent reputational damage and the end of his career. Sadly, there are a lot of vile people out there who will go to bat for him.
 
The fact that he 100% removed the prongs and taped over it does make me a little happy because it shows that he clearly was flustered and worried about the whole thing. Usually he just brushes off all criticism because he knows nothing will happen. Don't get me wrong, there will be 0 consequences like always for him, but at least he may have stayed up a little in bed frustrated about his screw up.
 
I saw some people sweeping for Hasan under a tweet about him showing the collar (which to me is an omission of guilt since he’s changing his story). Either way, though, I have a really hard time understanding defending someone who clearly neglects and disdains an animal that depends on him. I can usually eke out a bit of empathy for almost anyone, but man, these people are actually so vile that I’m about ready to say round them all up and let’s be done with it

Is there any documented instance of Kaya as an adult, not a puppy, wagging her tail and making direct eye contact with Hasan and not breaking eye contact when he turns to look at her?

So far, I'm only seeing photos and video of the dog breaking eye contact when Hasan looks at her. Most happy dogs aren't scared to make direct eye contact with their owners and will happily do so to get attention. Flattening of the ears would be another huge red flag.

Dogs have proven to be able to read their master's facial expression and able to read eyes. This uncanny, almost human like ability dogs have attained, is why the human/dog partnership has been so successful over the years. Seeing Kaya turn away in fear is so sad whenever Hasan looks at her is so sad.

When interacting with guests, Kaya isn't timid, so the one "spoiling" her has stopped Hasan from completely quashing her spirit. Hopefully Kaya is getting spot at the foot of the bed and some belly rubs behind Hasan's back.
