Yes, and why shouldn't we? If a million dogs enter my country they wont turn it into a shithole, they wont stab & rape my people. They won't drive down the wages despite doing a shit job, they wont turn the economy into shit and bring imported terroristic savagery with them. They wont murder me for burning a book or behead teachers for the crime of teaching kids about how some guys dared to make fun of a long dead pedophile. I could shock a dog and it would still love me, but if I dare just give off the wrong "vibes" to some of these 'people' I might get spat on for no reason. I do not know of a single person who has not had a negative experience with them, they don't even treat each-other nicely. In comparison dogs win over mudslimes every time.

There are a million studies that show that show that people who think of animals as being worth substantively less moral consideration than humans are actually more likely to dehumanize oppressed humans. it’s why i find libs who aren’t vegan/vegetarian/generally nice to animals extra hypocritical and sinister. it’s probably one of the biggest tells that they have no conviction in their stated anti-prejudicial beliefs.

I think animals are definitely not on the same page as human life. That said if we are to sacrifice animals for human benefit, then we have an even greater responsibility to honor, love, and respect them as much as we can possible afford. The role they play in our lives should be acknowledged with a deep fucking gratitude and care. In many ways and in every day, animals are our heroes.

Exactly. Animal lives are absolutely not equitable to human lives but we have been given dominion over animals, to nurture them and protect them, not to be cruel and abuse them.

The rules we have for treating animals in modern society is complicated. Some we treat as pets, some we treat as pests, others we raise to be food, and still others we raise for by-products like eggs and milk, or wool. There are wild animals. And then there are endangered species. The way we treat animals in each catgegory is totally different. In a way, it's all very inconsistent, and yet somehow it all makes sense. But never do we approve of cruelty.
