Has anybody ever had allergy shots?

Right now I'm using a prescription nasal spray. It works decently well, but I wouldn't mind being able to get off it.

If you've had allergy shots, how well did they work? How long did it take before they started working? Any horrible side effects? Is it worth the large time commitment? Etc...

The kind that just slowly exposes you to an allergen in the hope your body will stop being a faggot about it eventually?

In that case, no I have not had allergy shots. Typical allergy meds have never done much for me so it is something that I have considered.
