Chris Hansen catches a bald guy from New York

for some reason, the whole time I was thinking:

To be honest as excited as I was for the return of Chris Hansen (TCaP is still one of my favorite shows of all time), I was still kinda scared it would be "dumbed down" due to legal reasons and fears stemming from that whole suicide thing that killed the show in the first place.

I'm so happy that my fears were misplaced. God bless you Hansen you sexy, creepily monotone voiced man.

Is he even making much money from the show though? It's only being uploaded on his crimewatchdaily channel and some other peoples channels. It's not on TV is it ?

I think in episode 3 of HVP a guy who was busted or remembered the original show had a panic attack over it.

Yeah, and the latest guy was freaking out and denying it when he heard his name (Though he might not have honestly recognized him, since Hansen is older and more bloated now).

And there was that guy in the original series that got busted in two different episodes.

yeah i remember that TCAP episode. Are you refering to the bald fag in the new HVP one?

Check the Youtube comments if you have the wherewithal. They're loaded with angry psychos accusing Hansen and the cops of entrapment and ruining totally innocent lives. They really like to hide behind the "it's media spectacle, so it's unjust!" angle.

I wonder how long they actually spend messaging the predators though, with vigilante guys like Justin Payne it's usually pretty lengthy so they can't try to pull the "I was just trying to look out because an actual predator coulda come over".

During TCAP it usually took weeks (rarely months) but there were plenty who wanted to meet within days. I imagine HVP gets meetings in just days since they're using hookup apps and FB.

They don't intentionally prolong the communication. They keep in contact until the predator proposes to meet, which they then set up. Obviously it's better if they don't have to spend weeks on a single guy but they can't entice them to commit a crime. The legal foundation of sting ops is that the accused voluntarily chose to break the law when presented with an opportunity, proving mens rea. Predators snared in TCAP never successfully argued entrapment simply because entrapment means enticing someone to commit a crime they wouldn't normally commit. At most they can ask for stuff like food or drink when solicited by the predator, which isn't illegal because they're legal items but they also happen to help prove criminal intent to the judge and jury.

They're careful about this shit. TCAP's disastrous Texas op is what happens when they're not. There's a reason Hansen broke off with Perverted-Justice.

Side note: I love how the Tetrad Core staff are wearing branded bulletproof vests for "safety". No fucking way that's not just product placement.
