My favorite way to deal with Rocket Flood is with Rockets. Just frag grenade the first group with a launcher, then steal the launcher and go launcher and shotty for basically the rest of the level. Use melee attacks to deal with large groups of Infection Forms, and snipe any Combat Forms with rocket launchers using your own rocket launcher. The thing about Rocket Flood is that they have a tendency to stand perfectly still (or move in a beeline towards you) and take the hit, even if you fire a rocket from a pretty good distance away. Their AI is set up so that they don't always get close and blow themselves up, but that makes them exceedingly stupid and more likely to stand perfectly still.

I used to do that too, but pistol ammo is just more common.

Now that the gameplay question is settled, can we go back to talking about how 343 took a massive dump on the lore? Practically the only time I liked them was with Halo CE Remastered and Halo 4, whereas many of their books just pissed me off.

I'd definitely like to see the grappling hook in action in Multiplayer. I can see it being a really fun tool with a lot of creative uses if 343i allows it.
The image of someone using a grappling hook on an enemy banshee and trying to rodeo it makes me more excited than I should be.

Imagine what sort of crazy game types can be made utilizing the hook, especially if it involves fusion coils.

unpopular opinion but i like the grappling hook, i think its dope as fuck, and it looks like a fun new mechanic to play with.
One thing I never totally understood about some of the backlash the grappling hook got was some of the bitching that it was only added in because "Doom Eternal's meat hook".

Is it a shameless cash-in on a successful gimmick mechanic from another game? Yeah, probably. But the meat hook was fucking fun in Eternal, and the grappling hook looks like it'll be fun in Infinite as well.

I think it’s just the cynical nature of it that people don’t like. Halo Infinite as a whole looks to be just a very cynically made game made by folks who don’t like Halo who are now forced to make Halo due to a real risk that Microsoft might just closed that studio

I just laugh at how stiff it looks and imagining the equivalent of a fridge using it.

Speaking of which, how heavy is Doomguy and Link compared to Master Chief? I imagine Doomguy's somewhat heavy due to all that muscle, and Link is an average-weight man who has some gadgets, but Chief is encased in heavy power armor. Not the kind of person I'd see using a grappling hook.

Disregarding the usual game bullshit, I'd wager that Link is VISIBLY under 200 lbs., with Doomguy may be close to 350

Mjolnir armor weighs half a ton, so imagine a fucking car coming at you with a grappling hook.

Less than a car by a good margin, considering the Chief's weight (in full Mark V armor at least) appears to be 994.9 lbs (Google Fu turns up pretty much similar results from different sources).

But still, he's a thick bitch all the same.

So basically, that grappling hook better be made of sterner stuff, otherwise it's going to snap while Chief is in mid-flight.

Titanium Weave no Doubt. only metal i can think of that would be reliable with that kind of weight swinging around constantly.
