I have never seen a company hate their flagship franchise like Microsoft and Xbox do with Halo. Why? Why do they hate it so much that each game is more and more shit. Then, they have the gall to just shit on Master Chief who’s basically Xbox’s mascot.

Because they didn't make the Chief. So they don't honor him, because they have no stake in his reputation. This has the same stench as when Disney bought Luke Skywalker for $4 billion and then shat on him in the Sequels.

From my understanding Halo 5 and Infinite sold well which is probably why they didn't get shit canned. Both games just failed as active live service games. Halo 5 sold $400 Million in it's first week, outselling Halo 3s first week by $100 Million, making it the biggest selling game in the franchise at least on its first week.

We don't know Infinites sales numbers, though the free to play multiplayer launched with 20 million players.

But objectively as far as sales go, Halo 5 wasn't a failure. Which again is why 343 was allowed to survive

It's why I'm glad I stopped watching them. Even ACG, who I generally trust review wise, gave it a buy rating which is his highest rating. He's like "oh there's some minor problems but it's a great introduction to halo"

Chinese are good at their jobs. They might make soulless stuff but they make polished soulless slop. The fact that people are pointing out "Its not the SAARS" is suspicious in and of itself.
