*Cue Overture*
The year is 2026

Halo fans are at war with an unholy alliance of women, brownies and troons known as "The Wokes".

We are losing.

Together they have raped our beloved IPs and killed our games in their
genocidal campaigns.

Only a few bastions remains - some carefully guarded.

But soon it wont be no more.

A heavy HB1 carrier has breached the Grognard's defenses and attacked
the cult classic called "Halo: Combat Evolved".

Initial reports confirm major cringe
and heavy faggotry.

Now, leaders of the "United Grognards Space Command"
have prepared their response...

Teams of highly-autistic "Online Drop Shock Trolls"
are ready to assault the carrier by chud-posting with sock accounts.

This is pure folly
But those troopers are the last of their ranks still willing to troll

And saving H: CE could be the most important battle of the war...

Bungie already did the "hardass woman soldier who makes a noble (heh) sacrifice" thing 16 years ago and would have coincided with the same events. Ironically one that would leave Williams absolutely seething. You'll never top the Slavic Spartan queen, 343. Long live Noble 2.

Hell, I'll do you one better and include a character that didn't even have a model but was integral to Chief's success, Foehammer.

Her wise ass pilot archetype always takes precedence over being a woman. I don't think you'll find a Halo fan that shits on her character. She got us where we needed to be and did some pretty sketchy flying in the process.

I don't count the Marines in Halo 2 with the Michelle Rodriguez voice template, but shoutout to them too.
I felt more when the two marines I was escorting in the underwater section in Regret died than I did when any 343 character died.

>master chief has gone rampant
These niggers.
That was from the original too.

the only difference is that this was Bungie when they were good and they didn't make the friendly NPCs have an unnecasarry amount of health... unlike 343, who remade the game with thier own shitty levels, but couldn't even bother to change "rampant" to "rouge".

From what I've seen in that scene, the men are coded as NPCs, and the women are coded as static objects. There's probably a joke in there somewhere.

I'll wait for the weekend before ill call it a flop though. Also, its a weird time to release, isn't it? A Tuesday morning?
I didn't bother to look at any of the 343 era, but every Halo game aside from CE launched on a Tuesday (CE was tied to the Xbox launch date, of course). Tuesday is a pretty typical launch day for games for a variety of reasons, tradition and old habits not being the least of them.
I can't wait for all the coping retards to tell me "just you wait until the weekend, than you'll see" like the issue with the playercount is that it's a Tuesday.
One issue with chartposting this time around is that Halo has been predominantly a console game, especially Xbox, for its entire existence, and Microsoft doesn't publish any sort of player counts for Xbox (neither does Sony/Playstation for that matter). So an anemic showing on Steam doesn't really have a lot of context as part of the wider ecosystem unless we get some kind of breakdown of who's playing it where. Coupled with Game Pass Ultimate subscribers getting it as part of their subscription, it's also hard to know how well it will end up selling since some players will have gotten it for "free."

That said, considering it's a single-player campaign only, and a poor remake of a beloved campaign at that, and one that you can already get in the MCC complete and for less with multiple other complete games included, I don't think those numbers are going to go up much at all, nor are people gonna be playing it for long. It'll attract some retards who are drawn to UE5 slop like moths to a flame, but everyone else will pass.

I literally cannot tell what is real about this game and what is not. Williams seems beyond parody. I feel like this is a huge prank and everything involving her is some AI generated parody. But its not, is it. Maybe in 2035 they'll reboot Halo CE again but this time the twist will be that it's an RTS like it was originally supposed to be. But then again, maybe not cause that's not creatively bankrupt enough for 343.
unlike 343, who remade the game with thier own shitty levels, but couldn't even bother to change "rampant" to "rouge".
Which they probably should have done honestly. Bungie's concept of Rampancy comes from their previous game series Marathon and is a completely different thing from the 343 style Rampancy seen in Halo 4. Bungie only applied it to Chief in Halo CE because Chief was originally supposed to be a cyborg. (Like the Marathon protagonist who was a Mjolnir Mark IV cyborg). IIRC Chief being a cyborg was retconned in the Fall of Reach novel and he was changed into a guy in a super suit of armor, which was how the character stayed. If there was one thing to change in the remake, it was UNSC soldiers calling Chief rampant.

Última edición:
This game is absolutely filled with kill barriers and invisible walls that the original just straight up didn't have.

This particular clip got my attention, because I remember that in the original, people would sometimes use 1's wonky physics to grenade launch a warthog to get on top the island on this level. This wasn't some obscure trick either, since it was popular enough that it was referenced in a secret easter egg room in Reach.

This fucking sucks.

The whole "you can't criticise something unless you have consumed it start to finish" has always been a pathetic defence for decades purely because these people will never expect the same from glazers.

All sense of urgency has been removed so they can "reveal" the Halo ring in this cutscene (?!?!?)

The Cortana we had was already an idealised representation because for a decade or two we had this beautiful window where the perfect representative was someone who could be depended upon. Confident, not arrogant. It's like 343 are trying to make up for making Cortana emotionally unstable in Halo 4 all those years ago.
Modern gaming has made me realize how much we've taken for granted from the big things like having a Forge tool or a working theater at launch to the finer details like having animation cycles work and look properly.

Something I realized in Halo: Reach (I'm unsure if prior Halos did as well,) there's idle first person animations. Armor appears to be "bolted together" so to speak.

They've had first person animations since Halo Combat Evolved

man, i remember making tons of weapon caches for the wheel map of 3
teleporters to other caches and i think even a closed off area you couldn't get in normally?
stacked that place with anything anyone could want
i got owned whenever i played it

it's been nearly twenty years, so i can't perfectly recall

What was the point of this game? CE is playable in its entirety through MCC, and dropping 50-70 bucks on a remake of it that doesn't even include the multiplayer outside of Co-op is a massive waste of money. Is 50-70 bucks worth it for standard jeet outsourced UE5 graphics, new, shittier voicework, and a couple of new missions where some shitty girlboss talks down to you constantly?

I feel like remakes like this are only justified if the remake is transformative in some way, or the original has technical/accessibility issues that make it hard for people to play properly. This is not the RE1 Gamecube version where the game was rebuilt from the ground up to be like the original but also added new aspects to keep it fresh, it's only barely a step up from Oblivion Remastered.

Some of my fondest memories from highschool was fucking around with my friends on all the custom maps we found. Indiana Jones was always a blast, and the race maps were also fantastic.

I remember pissing a bunch of people off at summer camp one year because we did a Halo 3 LAN party, we played zombies and the idiots who set it up had given the humans battlerifles and pistols, while keeping the zombies shieldless. I had been no lifing SWAT by that point and was popping heads. Ended up the last man standing and only lost because I ran out of ammo.

God I miss Xbox 360 era Halo

Couldn’t already figure out this was a desperate cash grab?
