finally got around to playing infinite's campaign for the first time, got up to the third level when you finally get to the surface of zeta halo
i feel like i'm missing something, after the end of 5 infinity is on the run but suddenly they're at zeta halo and just get annihilated by a bunch of brutes out of nowhere? i know they had a big part in HW2 but i've never played it and i don't think i should have to play it to understand the main games. why was infinity at zeta halo in the first place? what is the weapon and why is she on zeta halo? who put her there? why are some elites working with the brutes? why does my left trigger not work and i can only throw grenades immediately after grappling? why do i throw a grenade whenever i unpause the game or when i restart from a checkpoint or load a new level? where is craig? why do i have so many fucking questions?

Youre going to think I'm joking but they literally just completely retconned Halo 5: Guardians. They didnt really want to set up a retcon or a new story so they just put you in the middle and honestly it's probably for the best.

Also to my understanding the Banished existed before the schism anyway so they were never impacted by the events of Halo 2. Overall they were a better faction than Space-AlQaeda from Halo 4 and 5.

That was Alpha Halo / Installation 04 is from the first game, and it was blown up. It's visited again in Halo Nightfall, the live action prequel show to Halo 5. The Halo from Halo Wars 2 that gets sent from the Ark is the replacement for that one.
Zeta Halo is supposedly the halo ring that is shown at the end Halo 5 legendary ending. Why this Halo ring is fucked up, I can't remember. It might not be in the game and it just kinda is. There's like 2 games worth of plot that's skipped between 5 and Infinite.
